After dominating the second half of Game 3, it seemed like the Cleveland Cavaliers were finally going to steal a game from the Golden State Warriors. Then the Warriors ended the game on an 11-0 run in the final 3 minutes and just ran the Cavs out of the gym.
During that run, LeBron passed up a shot to Kyle Korver that Korver then BRICKED. Womp womp.
James offered this response when asked if he could redo that particular play, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst:
“If I could have the play over again, I would come off a screen situation. Draymond [Green] would switch on me with five fouls. I would get him leaning. I would drive left. I would see [Durant] step up. I would see Stephen Curry drop on Kevin [Love]. And I would see Kyle Korver in the corner, one of the greatest three-point shooters in this league’s history, and give him an opportunity in the short corner. I would do the same exact thing.”
Should LeBron James have passed to Kyle Korver?
As a big Kyle Korver fan, yes absolutely. Pass him the ball all the time. Pass the ball to Tucker. He’s one of the greatest shooters I’ve ever seen and I’d hate for his greatness to be erased from history. If he wins a chip with LeBron then becomes a legend. Look at Steve Kerr. There is no reason why people even remember he played in the NBA but everyone remembers that game winner.
The Cleveland Cavaliers lost because Kyrie Irving took over the 3rd quarter with wild runs at the basket and improbably layups with all matter of angles off of the backboard only to end the game with a disgusting step back contested 3-point attempt and miss by a bajillion miles.
I just want this series to be over. I hate you, Kevin Durant.
