Today was the first time in my professional career that I was called the «N» word on the field. They will say sorry to me after the game and please let it go, but If I don’t say anything racism will just continue to grow. No matter which country, color, religion or which language your speaking we all are human being and we should respect each other no matter what! #saynotoracism ?????????? The player have been reported!
“Today was the first time in my professional career that I was called the «N» word on the field,” Diomande wrote. “They will say sorry to me after the game and please let it go, but If I don’t say anything racism will just continue to grow.”
Diomande added that “the player (has) been reported.” It’s still unclear who that player is, though the incident might have occurred when an upset Diomande was involved in a very minor-seeming skirmish with several Portland players in the final minutes of the match.
There is so much soccer adrenaline following the World Cup that we tend to forget just how awful the sport of soccer actually is. The game itself is borderline unwatchable. We all watch World Cup soccer and we’re impressed with how intense the games appear but that’s the biggest stage with the best athletes and the highest stakes.
Have you ever watched an MLS game? On purpose?
It’s 90 minutes of passing drills with one or two occasional shots on net. There is no sense of urgency and no great stars. DC United just signed English soccer legend Wayne Rooney. Cool. Wayne Rooney is a million years old and the only reason why he’s available to be signed by DC is because he wasn’t good enough anymore to make the Manchester United roster.
Oh, and soccer is mad racist.
There is a constant flood of stories about African or black players in the European premier leagues being berated by every racial slur imaginable. It was only a matter of time until that trickled down into the MLS much like the trickle down of old worn-out talent from those leagues.
I won’t sit here and pretend to know anything about Adama Diomande. He has 9 goals and 2 assists in 8 matches. I have no idea if that’s impressive or if he’s slacking out there. What I do know is that he’s black in America sooo yea, I 1000% believe that someone called him the N-word.
Also shout out to Adama Diomande for not immediately murdering whatever player called him the N-word. Personally, I think there should be a law that allows you to murder one racist per year but they refuse to put my legislation on the ballot
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you’re done with soccer until the next World Cup. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
