The Carolina Panthers are one of the last remaining undefeated teams in the NFL this season and quarterback, Cam Newton, is the main reason why. Cam Newton is the MVP of this season and is literally getting zero credit. The name out of everyone’s mouth seems to be Tom Brady and although it’s true that Brady is having a statistically great and also undefeated season, he’s not doing what Cam Newton is doing. No one is.
Most Valuable Player trophy should go to the player who is the most valuable to his team. Look at the rest of the Carolina Panthers. Outside of Greg Olsen, you really could not name another impact player on the offense. Tom Brady has a stacked team around him and plays in a completely different, passing heavy, offense while the Panthers are primarily more of a running team which Newton is a major factor in.
Obviously, Tom Brady would be great if he was surrounded by bums, we’ve seen it before but you can’t ignore that he’s throwing to one of the most unstoppable tight ends in NFL history, Rob Gronkowski and a catch machine in Julian Edelman. That’s a statistical factor. Who is Cam Newton’s best wide receiver option? Ted Ginn? Laugh out loud.
In an interview by Panthers tight end, Greg Olsen, regarding Cam Newton he said this:
I don’t think stats and measurables and all that stuff do him justice because I don’t think there’s anybody else in the league that impacts the league like he does. And I don’t think you can always quantify that. I think you have to watch the game. I think people that know football, that watch the games, they understand what we’re doing, what he’s doing, and it’s not a statistic competition.
Facts. If you watch the Carolina Panthers play, it’s honestly all on Cam’s shoulders. The craziest part is that Cam Newton makes it look like he’s playing in a practice scrimmage against any opponent. He’s first in the NFL in percentage of running plays that lead to a first down. He’s literally carrying this team on his back.
But why do people still dislike him and discredit his accomplishments?
After celebrating a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday, a Nashville mother wrote an open letter complaining about Cam’s ‘antics’ during the game.
Dear Mr. Newton,
Congratulations on your win in Nashville today. Our team played well, but yours played better. Kudos to the Panthers organization.
That game happened to be my nine year old daughter’s first live NFL experience. … Because of where we sat, we had a close up view of your conduct in the fourth quarter. The chest puffs. The pelvic thrusts. The arrogant struts and the “in your face” taunting of both the Titans’ players and fans. We saw it all.
The note was far longer than that but that’s the gist of it. But before I shit on this woman and people like her, here is the dance in question.

To single out Cam Newton for an innocent touchdown celebration by calling him arrogant is your polite way of saying “I’ve just now come to terms with the idea of black people being successful but I’m not at the mentally prepared to seem them celebrate that success in front of me.”
Here’s an Aaron Rodgers “pelvic thrust”.
Here’s beloved JJ Watt doing a ‘nae-nae’ so hard that the ref tried to break it up at the end.
And here is Tom Brady and Julian Edelman being annoying as shit.
But you know, at the end of the day, it’s okay for them to celebrate and not Cam Newton because he’s cocky and they’re humble gentlemen. Tom Brady can yell and fist pump and spike the ball at like, midfield but no one has any problem with him. Obviously there is a loud group of people who just hate the New England Patriots due to their success for the past 15 years but overall, Tom Brady is like, an American hero.
Tom Brady knowingly allowed footballs to be deflated in the playoffs, which is not a big deal at all, and was suspended for 4 games. You couldn’t go a single day without seeing or hearing someone say “Free Brady”. It was outrageous to suspend this universally loved guy and now we’re handing him the MVP award. Interesting.
Cam Newton spends most of his time just smiling and enjoying himself. He has zero off of the field issues and by all accounts is just a genuinely fun and good dude. He is dragging the average ass Carolina Panthers through an undefeated season and is so clearly the most valuable player in the NFL but because he dances every once in awhile he’s a bad guy.
Lastly, I just want to say Go Giants and that Odell Beckham catch that was called off against the Patriots last week was insane. Fire Goodell.
