Saquon Barkley has yet to play in an NFL game, but that isn’t stopping New York Giants fans from buying mass quantities of his jersey.
Per Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barkley has the league’s best-selling jersey, ahead of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.
That’s MY running back. I’ve always said that the Giants should’ve drafted a running back No. 2 overall and whatever you do, do not look back at anything I wrote before the draft where I may or may not have said that the Giants should’ve drafted Sam Darnold or Bradley Chubb. Nope, I was Barkley since day one.
It should probably also be said that Saquon Barkley hasn’t signed his contract yet. Is there any player having a better summer than Barkley? He gets drafted to one of the best organizations in football. He’s the biggest star on the team before he even signs on the dotted line and now his jersey is doing numbers and again, he’s rushed for zero yards.
Are expectations too high?
Yea, of course. The New York Giants haven’t had a competent running back since Brandon Jacobs and even Brandon Jacobs was like, fine or whatever. He had one skill that Tiki Barber never had, he could actually break tackles.
Saquon Barkley is apparently lightyears better than both players and I cannot wait to see him score 40,671 touchdowns next year and personally revive Eli Manning’s fallen career. 2019 Super Bowl MVP: Saquon Barkley.
While you’re here, be sure to cop some Barkley merch before he shatters the record books:
