The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly looking to make a major move at the game’s most important position.
If the Washington Redskins don’t use the exclusive franchise tag on Kirk Cousins, the 49ers will make a run at acquiring the quarterback, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Kyle Shanahan is reportedly all but certain to become the 49ers’ next head coach and spent two seasons coaching Cousins with the Washington Redskins from 2012-12.
Shanahan was “integral” in the drafting of Cousins, Rapoport notes.

If at any point during this offseason, you thought the San Francisco 49ers were going to turn it around then laugh out loud at you. The 49ers solution to Blaine Gabbert? Kirk Cousins. That’s like trying to put out a fire by going out and buying a pack of matches.
Looks like Kyle Shanahan doesn’t really won’t the head coaching job in San Francisco and he’s trying to get himself fired before he even arrives. He’s not even being covert about it.
Well, let’s all prepare for another 3 years of San Fran being irrelevant. I guess this was inevitable anyway after Chip Kely definitely poisoned the water over there. He seems like a real spiteful bitch. Kelly for sure dropped something into the bay.
