Redrafting the 2011 NBA Draft

8. Detroit Pistons: Tristan Thompson

Tristan Thompson seems like he was born to play in Detroit. He is the natural progression from the Bad Boys in the 80s to the 2000s Ben Wallace teams. He rebounds and dominates the paint. Tristan Thompson IS Detroit. He is John Salley 2.0.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t have LeBron James in his corner making sure he gets offered a max deal that he doesn’t deserve but he could end up playing under head coach/GM, Stan Van Gundy, which means he could probably end up taking advantage and getting a max deal regardless.
