In a video uploaded to Twitter, Minaj happily explained the entire situation away, saying:
“This is all happening because i pushed my album back two months… I just finished writing and recording literally hours before the album came out, so now I simply don’t have the time to rehearse… and give you guys the level of the show you deserve… I really apologize, but it’ll be worth it.”
But a “Live Nation source” who spoke to Page Six had a different story:
A Live Nation source told us, “Nicki’s tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist. These are big arenas with up to 20,000 capacities. Sales for opening night in Baltimore is 2,000 tickets. LA is 3,400, New Orleans 1,000, Denver 1,300, Chicago 3,900. Even her hometown Brooklyn is only 5,050.”
Nicki Minaj is struggling right now. She’s really going through it. After pushing her album back in hopes of debuting No. 1 on the charts, she fell short behind Travis Scott’s Astroworld and it’s safe to say she didn’t take that news well.
She went on a long Twitter rant calling out Travis Scott for cheating the system by bundling albums with tickets and merch even though she did the same exact thing and it failed. She was angry at Travis because his girlfriend Kylie is going on tour with him and she’s bringing their new daughter Stormi.
Nicki is mad at a child.
She was mad at Spotify and her representation for not defending her. I guess she made some good points or whatever but yea, 30 tweets later I’d hope that you make one valuable point. Oh, she also compared herself to Harriet Tubman earlier this week.
Now, it looks like her tour is selling less than the local lemonade stand. Did I see that correctly? 1,000 in New Orleans? Dope. Which bar is that at? 100 more tickets there and that brewery she’s performing at might hit over capacity. Thank god she’s rescheduling. Don’t want the fire department kicking the door in at John’s Tavern.
You really have to feel bad for this woman for only have the SECOND BEST ALBUM OUT. It’s a real shame. You hate to see someone be the second best in the entire world. It’s almost as if she’s complaining about something incredibly petty and unimportant and that’s affecting her ticket sales.
What Would Harriet Tubman Do?
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you’re hyped to see Nicki perform at O’Malley’s Pub. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
