I was rejected because of qualities that are now being praised in other women coming forward. And because of my experience, I feel it’s likely that I will always be just out of the collective understanding. I don’t know if there will ever be a time where I’m considered normal or relatable or likable.
Even with the #MeToo movement, and everyone coming out with stories — and one could assume that I probably have quite a few stories, and I do — I didn’t speak out for many reasons. I just didn’t think based on how I’d been received by people, and by feminists, that I would be a sympathetic victim. And I thought if ever there were a time where the world would agree that it’s appropriate to victim-shame someone, it would be when I come forward with my story.
In a recent New York Times interview where Megan Fox was promoting her new about archaeology or some bullshit, she was asked about her involvement in last year’s women’s revolution in Hollywood.
Megan Fox compared Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler and how miserable of an experience it was to work with him but somehow all of her ‘complaining’ about Michael Bay ended with her being labeled difficult to work with and a diva.
So when women across Hollywood told their stories of sexism and sexual harassment, Megan Fox was quiet as hell and now we know why and it’s totally understandable.
A woman, who many believe is famous exclusively because she is hotter than everyone in your phone contacts right now, brought any potential negative attention she received from men completely onto herself.
It’s an unfair position that she finds herself in but you have to respect her level of self awareness to know that if she threw her name into the ring, she would’ve 1000% been shit on by literally all sides.
Thank you, Megan
Or she was just protecting herself and didn’t care about the cause as much as she didn’t want mean tweets sent to her. Either way, what a hero. It’s a tough life for the hot people.
sidenote: Her new TV show sounds wack but she is great in New Girl and is a way better actor than you people say.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think Megan Fox deserves far more love than she gets. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
