“He’s an MVP, one of the best point guards who was playing, so anything that he taught me is definitely useful,” Ball said. “And just that one day alone I learned a lot, from coming off a screen, to guarding, there’s a lot of things that he helped with and I appreciate him taking time out of his day to do that because I know he didn’t have to.” …
“We talked about all that. Nutrition, keeping your body right in the training room and stuff, lifting weights the right way, so he helped me on more things than just basketball. He helped me with my all around game.”
Well this just confirms all of my suspicions. Lonzo Ball is going to be the best player in NBA history and no one can tell me otherwise. I’ve already compared him to Jason Kidd with his ability to see plays before they happen and his ability to thread the needle with ridiculously accurate passes. If he adds Steve Nash’s ability to come off of screens, WOOF. Let’s just make him the new NBA logo right now.
There’s all this talk about Paul George or DeMarcus Cousins or even LeBron James coming to play in Los Angeles in 2018 but the Lakers don’t even need them at this point. Lonzo is enough to bring this team to the Promised Land. Somewhere in the world, Steph Curry, is hiding under the covers and won’t come out because he’s afraid of Lonzo coming to Oakland and dropping 20 and 20 on his head.
