With the Cleveland Cavaliers on the brink of elimination from the 2017 NBA Finals, Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reported Thursday that LeBron James may consider signing with the Los Angeles Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers during 2018 free agency.
James and the Cavs fell 118-113 to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday and are down 3-0 in the NBA Finals.
In support of rumblings regarding James potentially heading west, O’Connor referenced an article by The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski last year in which he revealed league-wide belief that LeBron may not stay in Cleveland forever.
There are about a bajillion reasons why this story is 1000% true and the first reason starts with LeBron and the Cavs playing their best playoff game ever and still losing to the Golden State Warriors because all Durant had to do is walk up to the 3-point line and shoot the jay in LeBron’s eyes for the game and the series.
What reason would he have to stay in Cleveland? He already won them their first championship in franchise history. He already came back from Miami and restored the city’s economy. He already got the henny good, JR Smith, to impregnate all of Cleveland’s married women.[1. Cuckland.] Check Cleveland off the list. He’s been, done that.
Plus, if you recall from last week, LeBron James has a home in Los Angeles already and something tells me he’d rather live in his mansion with racial slurs spray painted on the fence then in his shack in Cleveland that is no doubt invested with bed bugs.
Also, LeBron has a production company. He owns tech start ups. Homeboy is trying to make that Michael Jordan after-basketball money and he can’t do that in Ohio. Why not spend the golden years of your career with Lonzo Ball and Paul George? Russell Westbrook or Kevin Love might even be there too.
All I know is, get the fuck out of the East so the Knicks can thrive.
