“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon,” Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said Tuesday in a statement.
“Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project,” a statement from Lord and Miller read. “We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew.”

Wellll, this movie is going to be absolute trash. I mean, that was 1000% true 24 hours ago but now it’s confirmed with the directors walking away halfway through production. Nooooot a great look for Lucasfilm, which is already rolling the dice with these Star Wars spinoff films.
Star Wars: Rogue One was fine or whatever but it was a story that didn’t need to be told and just completely pointless overall. You know what’s even more pointless than the story of how the Rebels got the Death Star plans? The journeys of young Han Solo.
I hope this means that this movie gets scraped. As much as I want to see Emilia Clarke in a movie that doesn’t suck[1. Shout out to Terminator Genisys.] and I love some Woody Harrelson but nope. Skip. I don’t want to see the day where Han Solo and Chewbacca met. Vomit.
Can’t wait to be there on opening night like an asshole and try to convince myself that the movie I just sat through wasn’t awful.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think the Han Solo directors walking away from this movie is a bad sign. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
