Carolina Panthers Offensive Tackle Michael Oher Beat The Shit Out of an Uber Driver

Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Michael Oher is accused of assaulting an Uber driver in Nashville, Tennessee, according to Nashville police.

The Uber driver claims that on April 14 the two got into an argument during a ride to downtown Nashville. The driver said he put his hand on Oher’s face, and then Oher knocked him to the ground.

The incident started when the driver picked up Oher and four others to go to the Southern Restaurant in downtown Nashville, according to the citation.

Oher told the driver to follow another vehicle.

The Uber driver did not think the lead vehicle knew the correct route and suggested they take the lead.

Oher thought the Uber driver was trying to collect more fare money, according to the citation.

An argument started, and Oher and his friends wanted to go to another location on Eighth Avenue South, but on the way they made a bathroom stop at Mapco on that avenue.

The argument continued, and when they got to the Mapco, the Uber driver got out to let the passengers out of the vehicle.

Oher, who was in the front passenger seat, got out and confronted the driver.

“The victim then put his hands up towards the suspect’s face and the suspect pushed the victim down onto the ground,” according to the citation.

The driver said Oher also kicked him in the  leg while he was on the ground.

Oher’s friends stopped Oher from “doing anything more to the victim,” according to the citation.

First of all, when you have movies inspired by your life starring Sandra Bullock, you have to pick your fights better. When your life is winning people Academy Awards[1. I don’t actually know if anyone won an award but only nerds fact check], you can’t kick Uber drivers. That’s a very important unwritten rule of life. You don’t see that drunk pilot who somehow landed a plane on the Hudson river out here chokeslamming Lyft drivers.

Having said that, fuck Uber. This whole altercation just points out a fatal flaw in their system. Unlike a taxi, these Uber drivers are real jerks about making stops or redirecting to a new route. I guess they aren’t allowed and blah blah some Uber drivers are a little too confrontational about it. They act like it’s their job or something.

I’m just waiting for the next catastrophe so that Uber can swoop in and surge price people into doubt. Shout out to Michael Oher for taking one for the team and kicking another human being while they are defenseless on the ground. We need more heroes to emerge.

Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think it’s okay to hit Uber drivers because they’re not real people. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.

Created Deadseriousness after being fired from every job I've ever had. One faithful night I drew the conclusion that if I was going to be unemployed, I might as well write articles that will guarantee I am un-hireable going forward. This website is the equivalent to a face tattoo.

E-mail Lester@Deadseriousness.com to talk directly about all Deadseriousness related stuff or if you just want to talk about like, the Yankees or Marvel comics or whatever.
