Andrew McCutchen has quietly been one of the best outfielders in all of Major League Baseball. He doesn’t get the love that Bryce Harper and Mike Trout get but he’s right up there talent-wise. McCutchen is a 5-time MLB All Star and the 2013 NL MVP. Pretty decent resume or whatever.
Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury. That’s not an outfield that’s winning a World Series. You can roll a ball to the plate and Aaron Judge will swing for the fences all game long. Brett Gardner is past his prime, which is a shame because his prime wasn’t even that great. Jacoby Ellsbury will be on the roster forever so I won’t even bother complaining about him.
The Yankees acquired a lot of talent at the trade deadline this past season. It’s time to flip those assets into some superstars. No offense to Gleyber Torres or Justus Sheffield but I’ll take a former MVP over some guys with ‘potential’.
Hey Yankees, make the call.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think the Yankees will actually trade for McCutchen. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here.
