The Cleveland Browns decided that their football club would be better off without one of the most talented wide receivers in NFL history on their roster. Odell Beckham Jr is now a free agent because his dad posted an 11 minute video of all the times his son was wide open and didn’t get the ball.
The Browns front office watched that footage and thought it made sense to remove the receiver who always gets open and not the quarterback who can’t see over the line of scrimmage so he rushes out of the pocket to hit his tight end for a 2-yard gain while Odell is doing jumping jacks alone in the endzone.
Anyway, here are the 5 teams that should sign Odell Beckham Jr:
1. Los Angeles Rams
Fuck it. Salary cap doesn’t matter. Draft picks don’t matter. The Rams have completely thrown out all of the team-building rules and their front office is running like Madden Franchise Mode. Get Matty Stafford. Get Von Miller. Get Odell. None of it matters. We’re all going to die someday.
2. Cincinnati Bengals
Ja’Marr Chase is currently putting together the greatest rookie season for a wide receiver in NFL history. Joe Burrow is currently 3rd in touchdown passes behind only Matt Stafford and Tom Brady. Both are quietly putting together MVP seasons.
But none of that is why I think Odell should sign with Cincinnati. It would just be a huge fuck you to Cleveland if he stayed in Ohio and stayed in the same division to haunt the Browns for the remainder of his career. I promise you if Odell played with Joe Burrow then Odell’s dad would not have 11 minutes of his son being wide open.
3. Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is the most electric quarterback in the league. We saw his game jump to another level when Stefon Diggs arrived. Perhaps there’s an even higher level he can reach if the Bills move Cole Beasley’s corny ass down the depth chart and replace him with ODB.
4. New York Jets
Odell Beckham’s best years were in New York. Not only his peak performances but his peak fame and popularity. He’s familiar with the stadium and locker room situation. I’m sure his favorite parking spot is still available.
But more importantly, Mike White needs help out there. Give the 2021 NFL MVP a star receiver.
5. New York Giants
I mean liiiiike, the Giants receiving corp has been ravaged by injuries with Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shephard and Kadarius Toney all walking with limps right now. If this franchise wants to see if Daniel Jones can truly be the guy in New York, they’re going to need to provide him with a true no. 1 receiver.
Also it would be hilarious if Odell Beckham Jr was getting double paychecks from the Giants after signing that massive contract and being traded to Cleveland.
