draymond green contract
NBA

Draymond Green, one of the first players to make money podcasting for real. Balling nextdoor to Silicon Valley all these years, I reckon Draymond’s stock portfolio impeccable. His money makes money.

I know a savvy business mind when I see one.

After another disappointing, injury-plagued Warriors season, Draymond Green elected to opt out of the final year of his deal—opening up financial flexibility in case Mike Dunleavy in the front office wanted to wheel and deal. Someone emailed me asking if I thought Golden State would get LeBron and AD. I did not. They did not. I have to answer my emails. I’m the least busy person you know.

LeBron is a Sixer. Anthony Davis still shackled to DC like Melania.

So with the excitement over, Draymond Green officially re-signed with the Golden State Warriors, a 1year $27.7m deal—the same exact contract he opted out of—including a 15% trade kicker, again, something he already had in the contract he opted out of.

The only difference is Draymond waiving his no-trade clause, making him trade eligible on December 15th with the rest of the bums he belittles on his boring radio show.

In Klutch We Trust. Rich Paul busy these days. Late nights on the phone with LeBron while he flip-flops between teams. 3 snoozes deep, rushing out of the house for the least interesting podcast ever recorded—Max Kellerman void of anything to say, just a man obsessed with speaking into microphones for money, not at all focused on quality or understanding audiences aren’t foaming at the mouth for the 2,000th MJ vs. Kobe debate, “Well, he modeled his game after MJ”, WE FUCKING KNOW.

Plus, I imagine once the weather gets warm, Adele starts speaking patois. The streets are calling.

Draymond is looking around the locker room—Steph Curry long in the tooth, outwardly disappointed in LeBron’s decision, Jimmy Butler rehabbing his injury with the urgency of a coffee brand salesman, Brandin Podziemski still around, begging to get Jordan Poole’d into a Jordan Poole of his own drool.

Green purposely opted out to waive his no-trade clause, opening up a reality where Golden State trades him at the deadline to a title contender, swaddling him in a planet Krypton escape ship—a Steph Curry trade demand incoming, not inviting the homies to the crib like Luka, while blaming the organization for forcing him to leave when he always wanted to stay.

This is why Draymond Green is a Hall of Famer.
