4 Teams That Should Trade For Saquon Barkley

saquon barkley

With a brand new regime running the Giants, it seems as though Saquon Barkley’s lackluster career in New York is coming to an end as it’s being reported they are talking calls regarding Barkley trades.

Saquon is in the final year of his rookie deal and set to make $7.2 million which is an astronomical amount of money for a guy who is allergic to playing a full season of football and isn’t consistently impressive when he is healthy enough to play.

It’s highly possible Saquon simply requires a change of scenery. There has yet to be a Giants coach who understood how to properly utilize Barkley’s skillset. How many times have you seen this offense run Barkley right up the middle for a gain of zero yards despite fully knowing Barkley does most of his damage outside the offensive tackles and in open space.

I have no idea if Saquon peaked in college or if he can actually ball but here are teams that should take that leap of faith and trade for him:

1. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have established their position on first-round draft picks and how little they matter when comparing them to already highly productive stars. They’ve also established how unimportant the salary cap is which is important for the remainder of the list considering I have not looked at any of these teams’ cap numbers or if they can even afford Barkley.

LA has Von Miller, Jalen Ramsey, Matty Stafford, Aaron Donald and Odell Beckham under contract. Salary cap issues only affect bad organizations. Perrenial Super Bowl favorites don’t give a shit about all that noise.

2. Baltimore Ravens

In the NFL, I’m a huuuuge believer in strengthening your strengths. Last season the Ravens finished 3rd in rushing offense but that’s only due to Lamar being sidelined with injuries to finish the year. Baltimore wants to be the no.1 rushing team and bringing in Saquon Barkley can secure that.

Also, they should probably run Lamar Jackson his money and stop being cute. They paid Joe Flacco and bajillion dollars and Flacco spent it all on Marlboro’s and Bic lighters.

3. Buffalo Bills

The AFC is wide open for the taking. The Cincinnati Bengals will be nowhere near the Super Bowl anytime soon. This franchise used to exclusively draft players who went to local Ohio colleges because they refused to pay for out-of-state scouts.

Free Joe Burrow.

This is when you re-tool and add weapons like the Rams did last season. Bring in a true difference-maker to pair with Josh Allen in the backfield. Allen can do all the difficult runs up the middle and Barkley can catch pitches and misdirections.

4. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals might be busy dealing with a very strange pre-breakup with Kyler Murray who is currently doing that thing where you intentionally pick insignificant fights with your partner all the time in hopes they break up with you so you don’t have to be responsible for the dumping and you call feel like the victim.

Assuming they work it out, Murray is coming off an MVP season that was derailed by injuries. They’ve added AJ Green and DeAndre Hopkins to maximize their superstar’s potential. Bring in Saquon Barkley. Oh, also their two running backs are free agents right now and could very easily both be wearing new jerseys next season.

Or Barkley can get a long-awaited reunion with former teammate, Colt McCoy, when Murray doesn’t show up to training camp.
