We Should Probably Be More Concerned That Tua Tagovailoa is Still in Concussion Protocol a Whole Ass Month Later

There is a report this week that Tua Tagovailoa will not participate in Pro Bowl activities as he is still in the NFL’s concussion protocol. The Pro Bowl is February 5th. Tua’s last game was on December 25th. 42 days later and Tua won’t be ready to throw dodgeballs and play non-contact flag football?

I don’t know how these players feel about the Pro Bowl, especially with so many alternatives and replacements making the roster in recent years but Tua Tagovailoa just had the best season of his career setting new career highs in touchdowns (25) and passing yards (3,548) as well as leading the NFL in passer rating (105.5).

He also missed 4 games and had to leave a couple of games early because he suffers from concussions pretty much every time he ties his cleats.

This man cannot be allowed to play professional football again. We are witnessing someone develop CTE right before our eyes and we’re arguing whether or not he’s better than Justin Herbert instead of locking him in his hotel room on game days so his medulla oblongata stops bleeding on the 25-yard line.

Either we care about player safety or we don’t.

Damar Hamlin died on a football field a few weeks ago and we’re all just talking about the 2023 Miami Dolphins as if it’s guaranteed that Tua will be back under center for Week 1 when in actuality, he should be coaching on Nick Saban’s Alabama staff or running successful local car dealership while visiting a neurologist every few months to check in on his eroding cranium.

So what’s next for the Dolphins?

Tua Tagovailoa is going to try and play football next season and Tua Tagovailoa is going to leave on a stretcher after what will look like a mundane QB hit but will be the last hit of his NFL career.

OR, the Dolphins can be proactive and look for his replacement. Perhaps someone older that way Tua can stay on the team and take a gap year to like, ice his skull for a year or whatever. If only there was a veteran quarterback available that wants to play in Florida and has just enough juice in the tank to find Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle open downfield?

Enter Tom Brady—the most divorced man on Earth. Now, there is a story this week that the Dolphins aren’t interested in signing Brady but that could be all smoke and mirrors. If they truly want Tua to be with the franchise then they have to make it seem like they aren’t shopping for his replacement. Which they absolutely are. No need to upset the man while his brain stem is swollen.

Again, Tua isn’t healthy enough to throw a ball through a tire at the Pro Bowl. Don’t be shocked when he’s on the sidelines holding a clipboard watching Brady throw balls into the dirt because he’s an elderly man who is terrified of being hit.

The Dolphins will not be back to the playoffs for awhile but hopefully Tua Tagovailoa can heal and have a normal CTE-free live.
