Something’s brewing in Michigan. On May 31st, Trajan Langdon was named the President of Basketball Operations for the Detroit Pistons. and in 2 short months, Langdon has snapped his fingers and turned the Detroit Pistons into an instant title favorite with some incredible wheeling and dealing.
Tobias Harris has agreed to a two-year, $52 million deal with the Detroit Pistons, sources tell ESPN.

LETS GOOOOOOO. How do 29 other GMs allow the Pistons to get their hands on both Tobias Harris AND Tim Hardaway Jr??
This Tobias Harris Tim Hardaway Jr tandem is about to light the league on fire.
The 2023-24 Pistons set a new NBA record, losing 28 straight games and looking like all 12 guys on the team met moments before the opening tip. And that’ll never happen again because they elected to trade a 24-year-old making $4 million this season, who shot 37% from 3 last season and has the potential to be the best perimeter defender on the floor—for 32-year-old Tim Hardaway Jr who was unplayable in 2 of the Mavericks 4 playoff series this season and will make $16 million next year.
Tobias Harris played 36 minutes a night for the Sixers when they battled and lost to the Knicks in the first round. He averaged an impressive 9 points in that 7-game series, including scoring a grand total of zero (0) points in Game 7.
And now, deservedly so, he will make $50 million over the next two seasons to lead Detroit to a championship.
Tobias has finished 20th in Most Improved Player voting 3 times in his career. You move mountains to get a guy like that.
His father/agent/bestie describes him as an assassin scorer and now that Joel Embiid isn’t in the way stealing all the possessions diving on the floor, begging for foul calls—Tobias has the freedom to lead a young squad to the Promised Land.
Cade Cunningham hasn’t stayed healthy long enough to prove he’s good enough to be the best player on this team. Perhaps he is the perfect facilitator to get the ball to Timmy and Tobias and get out of the way.
Boston has Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
Milwaukee has Giannis and Dame.
Philly now has Joel Embiid and Paul George.
And I’m taking Tobias Harris and Tim Hardaway Jr over all of them.
Detroit in 4.
Quick Updated East Power Rankings
1. Detroit Pistons: Who can stop Tobias and Tim? The Pistons literally have TWO MVP candidates running their offense. Guaranteed 100 points between the two of them each night. We’ve never seen anything like this.
2. Boston Celtics: They only get to be this close to Detroit because they won the championship recently and I guess I have to respect that
3. New York Knicks: 5 first-round picks for Mikal Bridges? When Tobias Harris was available??? Laugh out loud. Plus, we should make fun of the Knicks for losing Tim Hardaway Jr. Twice.
