The New York Giants stink.
They haven’t had a winning season and a playoff appearance since 2016. 5 years of mediocrity means it’s time to move on from current GM, Dave Gettleman, who is directly responsible for putting together a roster of players who have no idea how to play football which, as you can imagine, is a problem for a professional football organization.
You also need to blame Giants owner, John Mara, for allowing Gettleman to run this front office for 4 seasons and ignoring his 17-39 win-loss record.
It’s been almost half a decade. We all see Gettleman’s plan.
It’s shit.
Now we must look into the future and decide who should replace Gettleman.
And more importantly, who should not replace him.
This is a photo of John Mara chumming it up with ESPN analyst and Monday Night Football background noise, Louis Riddick, who hasn’t worked for an NFL team since being hired to be a TV talking head in 2013.
Now, it gets tough here. It’s important to say that the NFL 1000% needs more black general managers. Especially after you see the way Jon Gruden and his friends email each other. The same white dudes get passed from team to team with the same old shitty conservative racist sexist values and guys like Dave Gettleman can maintain a position for 4 years without any signs of competence.
True equality is allowing Louis Riddick to come run your front office to the ground for 4 years as well. When black GMs can be terrible and not lose their jobs like their white counterparts is when we will finally see peace.
Louis Riddick has worked in front offices as a personal scout but he’s never actually been a GM. So not only would he be out of NFL front offices for almost a decade but he’d be moving up to a role that he has zero experience in.
The Giants need someone new and smart and cutting edge and ya know, familiar with the current day NFL. Not someone who can talk smoothly in an interview who appears to already be friends with his potential boss.
I don’t even know why I’m writing this. All Giants fans know that Dave Gettleman is going to get a 10-year extension after the Giants go 3-14 this year.
