4 Teams That Should Sign Dalvin Cook

dalvin cook

This week, the Minnesota Vikings announced they’d be releasing 4-time All-Star running back Dalvin Cook. The Vikings avoid his $14.3 million cap hit for the year by moving on from him now. It sucks seeing a 28-year old being treated like he’s some washed-up bum but it’s the NFL and any player over the age of 22 is on borrowed time.

Here are 4 teams that should sign Dalvin Cook:

1. San Francisco 49ers

Fuck it, give the San Francisco 49ers every weapon. Pair Dalvin Cook with Christian McCaffrey and walk into another Super Bowl. It doesn’t matter if QB1 is Brock Purdy, Trey Lance or me. Kyle Shanahan is going to manufacture a Super Bowl run and this organization is somehow going to find salary cap space to add Cook because the salary cap is a lie and the NFL is scripted.

2. Carolina Panthers

2023 nfl draft

I’m a big believer in giving every young, developing quarterback as much offensive talent as possible so they see success early. All of these guys come into the league capable of playing but lose confidence as they fail early because they’re drafted to terrible franchises who are frequently unable to get their shit together.

So if I had to pick a rookie who needed Dalvin Cook the most, I’d have to say Bryce Young on the Panthers. He’s the no. 1 overall pick with the most pressure. He also isn’t tall enough to reach the eggs at the top of the refrigerator. Plus, Cook will join Adam Thielen in Carolina where they can start their ‘we survived Kirk Cousins’ support group.

3. Chicago Bears

I’m also a big believer in players getting their revenge on the teams that cut them. If the Vikings want to cut Dalvin Cook following a 1,173 yard and 8 touchdown season then he should stay right in the division and haunt them twice a year.

Here’s the third thing I’m a big believer of: making your strength stronger. Last season, the Chicago Bears led the NFL in rushing. If opposing defenses couldn’t stop the Bears rushing attack without Dalvin Cook then good luck to the league if he signed there.

4. New York Giants

I am still shouting at the top of my lungs to anyone who will listen about how the Giants won a playoff game last season and didn’t upgrade the offense around Daniel Jones. Saquon Barkley hasn’t even signed his name on the dotted line yet.

If Saquon isn’t on this team Week 1 then the Giants 1000% need Dalvin Cook. This offense is totally dependent on the run game extending possessions slowly with first downs as they bleed defenses dry through a million paper cuts.
