Let’s Breakdown The Warriors Timberwolves Brawl

Draymond Green vs. Rudy Gobert: Loser Leaves Town Match

I’ve been waiting for someone to put hands on Rudy Gobert for what feels like my entire life and now that it’s finally happened but I can’t even fully enjoy it because it was done by the most annoying human on Earth. Draymond Green took something special away from us on Tuesday night.

About two minutes into the game with the score tied 0-0, Jaden McDaniels and Klay Thompson got into it coming up the court. They got tied up, Jaden McDaniels got a quick punch in before chaos ensued and Draymond Green ended up putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold for way too long.

Who started this fight?

Quiet as it’s kept, Klay Thompson is a sore loser and an asshole when things aren’t going his way.

On Sunday, the Timberwolves beat the Warriors 116-110. Klay shot 5-for-16 from the field and 3-for-10 from behind the arc. Jaden McDaniels has become one of the best on-ball defenders in the NBA and had Klay in hell.

Klay, being the sore loser that he is, wanted to get his lick back. It was on sight.

Klay is averaging only 14.6 points per game—his lowest scoring numbers since his rookie season 13 years ago. Minnesota is the next young team looking to establish themselves by bullying the former dynasty and Klay said “fuck them kids.”

What’s up with the Draymond Green Rudy Gobert strangling?

This Draymond Green Rudy Gobert beef between the lamest guys in the NBA started last season. Well, right before last season when Draymond punched Jordan Poole’s head off in practice.

Rudy Gobert had some slick shit to say about it on Twitter.

Fast forward to the end of last season and holier than thou Rudy Gobert ended up swinging on his own teammate, Kyle Anderson, on the sidelines of a nationally televised game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Draymond Green had some slick shit to say about it on Twitter.

Draymond was going after Gobert no matter what. Again, on sight.

I don’t want to victim blame here but if you’ve spent a year mocking someone, you need to be aware that you’re still in the middle of a beef. Especially when it’s with a psychopath like Draymond who literally stomped out Domantis Sabonis in the playoffs last year. Draymond is the one player in the NBA you do not want sneaking up behind you in the middle of a scuffle because he will take things too far while breathing sour cream and onion breath on you.

Would any of this have happened if Steph Curry played?

Steph Curry missed this game with a knee injury.

When Steph isn’t around, it’s like the Warriors have a substitute teacher. All of the bad kids in class are going to misbehave and try to get kicked out so they can chill in the lunchroom with their friends.

Steph is the only man keeping Draymond Green and Klay Thompson from going full mask-off and becoming the Dudley Boyz putting people through Mike Breen’s announcer table because someone looked at them wrong or stepped on the back of their new shoes.

You can see Steve Kerr begging Draymond to give Gobert oxygen but Draymond didn’t give a single shit about what that man was saying.

People always talk about coaches creating winning cultures and blah blah but the culture is really built on the back of the best player in the building. Steph Curry could’ve gotten Draymond to chill with the UFC moves.

What’s the funniest part of this fight?

Everything Karl-Anthony Towns says and does is unintentionally hilarious. The man who claims we’ll look back and realize he ‘changed the game’ was trying his little heart out to pry Draymond off Rudy’s neck and he needn’t have bothered.

Towns is biting his lip, flexing as hard as he can and he’s like a ladybug on Draymond’s shoulder. I respect him for trying because no one else was but yea, the weight room is that-a-way, my guy.

Also have to give a quick shout-out to Anthony Edwards for pretending to care at the end.

If you’re a Timberwolves fan, you’re glad Edwards is avoiding unnecessary suspensions.

If you’re a Rudy Gobert hater, you’re glad Edwards is allowing Rudy to get what he deserves.

Never forget Rudy Gobert shut down the NBA when he coughed all over the microphones thinking COVID-19 was fake only to test positive for it like, later that day. Yea, choke that dork out.

Should anyone be suspended?

I have already come to terms with who Draymond Green is.

I am no longer calling for the NBA to ‘do something’ about him. It’s time for the players to step up and handle this themselves.

How many punches, kicks, stomps and chokeholds does it take for someone on the court to finally step up and fight back? We really need to stop begging Adam Silver to get involved when in reality, NBA players are allowing Draymond to do this nonsense unchecked for all these years.

HE CHOKED OUT RUDY GOBERT, THREW HIM ON THE FLOOR AND NO ONE ON THE T-WOLVES DID A THING.

Nah, let Draymond keep playing. Suspensions don’t matter. He’ll be back doing the same nonsense and everyone on the court is going to keep letting him get away with it.

Why should I care if the players don’t?

Klay Thompson should get suspended a game or two. Not because I think he did anything egregious. He’s really struggling out there and could use a couple extra days off to clear his head.

Rudy Gobert doesn’t deserve a suspension, just, ya know, some ice and warm tea for his throat1.
