On August 4th, the Boston Celtics signed Enes Kanter to a 1-year $2.7 million contract. Lucrative.
It seemed like a favor from an old friend. Earlier that summer, head coach Brad Stevens stepped down and somehow immediately received a promotion into the front office. Stevens traded for Al Horford who he coached from 2016-19 and Kanter who he coached in the 2019-20 season. A terrible way to run a front office. Just signing guys who you’ve previously invited to your children’s birthday parties but somehow, the Celtics are in the NBA Finals.
Except Enes Kanter isn’t there. Lol. He was traded to the Houston Rockets along with Dennis Schroder so that Brad Stevens could bring back another former baby boy—Daniel Theis.
Between his signing and later departure from Boston, Enes Kanter decided to become a right-wing darling gossiping with Tucker Carlson and sitting wayyyy in the back of the CPAC conference. After being cut and never signed by another basketball team, Kanter believed he was being blackballed for being too political or whatever.
This weirdo even changed his name from Enes Kanter to Enes Freedom. We are never calling him Enes Freedom. Going on Fox News to say LeBron James is anti-American because he has business in China doesn’t grant you the name ‘freedom’.
It’s very clear he knew his NBA career was coming to an end and attempted to use his 15 minutes of MAGA fame to pressure the league into signing him to avoid some conservative backlash but Boston is in the Finals without him and no one even remembers he was ever on the team.
Kanter was statistically one of the worst defenders in the NBA. He’s a 7-footer who provides absolutely zero rim defense. The Golden State Warriors would be winning every game by 50 if Kanter was on the court getting sliced up on every single pick and roll and jumping 1 inch off the ground to get dunked on regularly.

He literally earned the nickname ‘Can’t Play Kanter’ because of his total ineptitude defensively.
It is impossible to not laugh at this grifter who accidentally stumbled into becoming the token NBA player willing to ‘stand up against LeBron James and China’ even though he clearly doesn’t actually know the details of what exactly it is he doesn’t like about China but just likes being invited on TV shows. He doesn’t care if his fans are all racists riding behind his white-passing face to shit on a league of black players—as long as he always has new notifications every time he opens the Twitter app.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are at the doorstep of winning an NBA championship thanks in large part to removing the clout-chasing baby who was averaging the most replaceable 3.7 points per game before the league washed their hands of him.
I don’t know if Golden State or Boston is going to win the chip but I do know that Enes Kanter is 10000% the loser.
Also real quick, just looked up to see what Kanter was up to these days and Republicans invited him to speak to the House regarding China’s human rights abuses. What an unserious government. You can spend your entire life fighting injustice and never get a meeting with any political leaders but a minor celebrity with rapidly waning relevancy can address to entire House without providing any real facts and information. Just vibes.
