Brandon Boston Jr was selected 51st overall by the Los Angeles Clippers and was supposed to quietly develop in the G-League while Kawhi Leonard leads this team to a championship parade buuuut plans change.
With Terrence Mann out and Nic Batum on a minutes restriction, Boston was given an opportunity on Tuesday night against the Spurs to show the world he doesn’t belong in the G-League.
come on dawg. brandon boston is a bucket. at 19 he’s shown the ability and willingness to score from all 3 levels.
forget the makes and misses, the shots he creates for himself is great stuff. pic.twitter.com/d0cwTR4I9B

Here’s what Boston put up in his 5th ever NBA game:
- 20 minutes
- 13 points
- 3-for-3 from 3
- 4 rebounds
- 1 steal
- +6 plus-minus
The young shooting guard can clearly shoot from the perimeter as well as create his own shot off the dribble. He’s lengthy enough to impact ballhandlers on defense.
For a team that’s been so veteran-heavy, they have done a great job developing young scorers, especially considering Kawhi isn’t pulling guys aside and giving them tips, or even making eye contact with anyone. There’s a very good chance Boston has never even heard Kawhi’s voice before.
But what makes Brandon Boston Jr a generational talent is his quote after the victory over San Antonio
Brandon Boston Jr. on his offensive arsenal: “I don’t know what I’m going to do so there’s no way the defense knows what I’m going to do.”

How can you stop him if even HE doesn’t know what he’s going to do?? This is the irrational confidence you need from a guy whose sole job is to come off the bench and bomb away from 3. Put the best defenders in the NBA on him. Doesn’t matter. They can’t stop what’s coming because no one, including Boston, knows what’s coming.
Can’t believe he’s on a roster with a Morris brother and Reggie Jackson. An entire roster full of guys who look at Paul George and think they’re better than him.
Nothing but respect for future MVP Brandon Boston Jr. Clippers in 4.
