All This Does Is Add More Chips To Baker Mayfield's Shoulders

The Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams will be battling in the Super Bowl this season and all people on the Internet want to do is drag Baker Mayfield.

His division rival made it to the dance. Joe Burrow and Baker Mayfield are both former Heisman trophy winners and no. 1 overall draft picks. One of those players made the Super Bowl in his second NFL season and the other is Baker.

Odell Beckham was cut by the Cleveland Browns earlier this season. His father posted clips of Baker either missing Odell standing wide open or throwing terrible passes to him. The team decided to cut Odell while blaming Odell for ‘freelancing’ in the offense and never being where he was supposed to be.

Los Angeles signed Odell and he was the best player on the field in an NFC Championship game after a career of old Italian sports radio hosts saying he can’t win or some shit.

Again, both Joe Burrow and Odell Beckham will be playing in the Super Bowl and Baker Mayfield will be sitting at the bar watching it next to you.

It’s easy to poke fun at Baker right now. Everyone thought he was ‘that guy’ because he did a weird TikTok dance in the endzone once and some people perceived him to have swag only for Joe Burrow to show up and truly drip cool.

Odell Beckham looked like he was washed and didn’t belong in the NFL when Baker was throwing to him. Fast forward to the NFC Championship and ODB had 9 catches for 113 yards.

But while you guys laugh at him, Baker Mayfield just collects more chips on his shoulders. More motivation to prove the haters wrong. Sure, Baker only threw over 300 yards twice this season and both games resulted in losses. Sure, Baker had a lower QBR than Davis Mills—a 3rd round QB the Houston Texans accidentally got stuck with because their starter is a pervert and their backup has the worst injury luck ever.

But none of that will bring Mayfield down. He loves adversity. He thrives in chaos. He has to literally jump to throw over his own offensive line because he’s too small to see above them. You guys enjoy your little Super Bowl. Baker will be in the lab perfecting his craft and making generational talents look like they have never heard of the sport before. *muscle emoji*
