The New York Knicks are chillin, feet up, arms behind the head, chair leaned back, hydrogen bomb vs. coughing baby, victorious.
On Sunday evening, New York beat (the soul, mind and spirit out of) the Philadelphia 76ers, 144-114, winning Game 4 in Pennsylvania, sweeping the Sixers 4-0, the Knicks 7th straight playoff victory, their most in franchise history.
The Knicks hit 25 three-pointers (11-for-13 in the first quarter) in their 30-point blowout in Game 4—tied for the most in playoff history.
New York is 8-2 in the playoffs.
8 wins by a combined 196.
2 losses by a combined 2 points.
Their +185 point differential through 7 playoff games, the biggest in NBA history.
Jalen Brunson invented the 5-point play:

The Knicks are the 4th team in NBA history with multiple 30-point series-clinching wins in a single postseason.
They join the 2025 Thunder, 2008 Celtics, and 1987 Lakers.
All 3 of those teams went on to win the NBA title.
But I’m still not sure how good this team really is…
There’s just something about the Knicks.
I know they’ve beaten both Detroit and Cleveland in recent playoff matchups, but both teams are so different.
The Knicks beat a young Cavs team still discovering its chemistry.
Plus, they traded away Darius Garland for the most consistent playoff performer in modern NBA history—James Harden.

Mitchell Robinson singlehandedly bullied both Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley last time but with the addition of Karl-Anthony Towns—the best defensive rebounder in the sport—I’m certain the Knicks have an advantage there anymore.
Evan Mobley is a man now.
He dribbles, sometimes confidently.
Detroit was the best team in the East, bombarding teams with physicality, athleticism and youth every night like the hotel across from a big Republican convention, Grndr app spikes, runaways turn frequent Fox News guests into aqueducts.
Cade Cunningham is leading the playoffs with 58 turnovers in 10 games—Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren’s defenders swarming him before he can compute diagnostics.
How are the Knicks going to stop the team shooting 44% from the field (The lowest of the remaining teams), led by a star committed to turnovers?
But fine, let’s say the Knicks shock the globe and win the Eastern Conference Finals—just for the sake of conversation—the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs have a tougher path to the Finals than anyone coming out of the East.
The Thunder battled a Phoenix Suns that finished 26th in scoring—way better than the only 4 teams worse than them, I’m sure.
And now, they’re about to wrap up their second straight sweep against a Lakers team whose best player is the same age as the head coach.
The Knicks are hot right now, for sure, but we haven’t seen them play against anyone like Jake LaRavia.
The Spurs have Victor Wembanyama. What more do I need to say?
I understand that the last time the Knicks and Spurs played in a winner-take-all game, the Knicks won the NBA Cup, Wemby a game-worst -18.
But Victor Wembanyama is tall and Jalen Brunson is short, so.
They’re the Knicks after all and that is my expert analysis.
