A few weeks ago, Teddy Bridgewater got mocked for kind of only pretending to go for a tackle but ultimately just faking it and bailing before there was any real contact. While everyone had weird takes, I praised his decision to do the least. Give us nothing, Teddy.
Teddy saw the slander he received for not putting in enough effort or being lazy or whatever other odd racist dogwhistle lines we hear about black athletes, he had an opportunity to redeem himself this past Sunday against the Chiefs. It uh, didn’t go well…
A few weeks ago, everybody roasted Teddy Bridgewater for not giving full effort on a tackle on a turnover.
look at him here. you made him atempt this sad tackle. and for what???? for nothing. it did nothingpic.twitter.com/veF99Qgn98— Rodger Sherman (@rodger) December 6, 2021
He once again had a great angle for a tackle but instead of stopping short, this time he really went for it. He reallyyyy should not have. In fact, his terrible tackle attempt accidentally knocked his teammate down and propelled Daniel Sorenson towards the endzone.
This is what happens when you put an effort in knowing damn well you don’t have to. I’m a huge supporter of staying in your lane. Teddy’s job is to throw 3-yard passes and the occasional interception. You know what isn’t his job? Tackling.
The same people who were complaining about Bridgewater’s lack of hustle would’ve been sitting on Get Up next to Mike Greenberg saying how dumb Teddy was for attempting that tackle if we found out the next day that he injured his throwing shoulder.
This is most likely the end of Teddy’s time in Denver. With the trading away of Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams, this entire Broncos team is going to look completely different next season. The two biggest highlights of the 2021 Denver Broncos: Bridgewater refusing to tackle someone and Bridgewater trying and getting his head dribbled on the turf.
Never. Try.
