Every week, I will talk about the 5 games you have to watch every week because stats show that people click through NFL content and I need readers on Deadseriousness so I can afford sauce for the 99-cent box of pasta I’m saving up for.
Here are the 5 must-see NFL games of Week 1:
1. Buffalo Bills @ Los Angeles Rams
The first game of the 2022 NFL season also happens to be the most exciting game of the week. A potential Super Bowl preview on Thursday night. Like, this might be the only games on their schedules that prevent them from going 17-0.
Also, this might lowkey be the battle of who signs Odell Beckham Jr in a few months when he is fully healthy and these teams make their big playoff push.
2. Cleveland Browns @ Carolina Panthers
There are a couple grudge matches in Week 1. Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have a reunion and a lesser website would say that’s a must-see matchup. Personally, I plan on watching zero fucking Seahawks games this season. Y’all can watch Geno Smith go 3 and out every single series but I have far more exciting vices.
But Baker Mayfield seeing Browns jerseys again will be hilarious. He is going to try soooo hard and it’s going to lead to some of the most memorable mistakes in NFL history. Myles Garrett is going to rip Baker’s helmet off his skull and Mason Rudolph him.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas Cowboys
This season, Dak Prescott is playing behind the worst offensive line of his career. He happens to start the season against a Todd Bowles-coached Bucs team that’s only a year removed from the Super Bowl where they gave Patrick Mahomes exactly 0.0001 seconds to throw the ball.
On the other side, I am BEGGING Tom Brady to fall off a cliff physically and start throwing ducks like when Peyton Manning and Brett Favre’s careers ended. Neeeeeeeeeed Brady to drop back to throw a pass on first down and his arm slides off his shoulders and makes an echoing slap on the turf.
4. Los Angeles Chargers @ Las Vegas Raiders
The NFL media is so strange. They seem to all join forces and unify on ‘hot takes’ thus making their takes extremely cold and tired. Everyone seems to believe the Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders are going to be surprisingly great teams.
This is why I love this week 1 matchup. The Chargers are going to run the Raiders out of the gym and we can stop pretending like acquiring Davante Adams is a Super Bowl-leading move as if Derek Carr isn’t the guy throwing the ball 10-yards behind him.
5. New York Giants @ Tennesee Titans
Just a heads up, every week this will be a list of 4 interesting games and 1 Giants game. The team is most likely going to lose every game so this article is really my only opportunity to speak about them on a week-to-week basis.
This will probably be a big fat L for the Giants but it’s important to see how Daniel Jones performs with a brand new coaching staff and a healthy clean slate. It doesn’t help that the Giants wide receiver corp combined for a grand total of 3 touchdowns last season but I have faith in Kadarius Toney and Wan’Dale Robinson being first down machines.
