4 Teams That Should Sign DeAndre Hopkins Yesterday

deandre hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins has once again worn out his welcome. Last time, it was the Houston Texans and now, it’s the Arizona Cardinals who are releasing Hopkins after accusing him of sitting out games at the end of last season when he was secretly healthy.

Last season, Hopkins managed to grab 64 catches for 717 yards and 3 touchdowns in only 9 games. I still think the 30-year-old All-Pro receiver has a lot left in the tank and could be revitalized playing for a serious organization and with a QB that doesn’t spend all their free time playing Call of Duty.
Here are 4 teams that should sign DeAndre Hopkins:

1. Cleveland Browns

deshaun watson

It’s time to reunite the disgusting brothers in Cleveland. Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins had their best years together in Houston. Separated since 2019, both men have become irrelevant. Together, their names were in the Top 5 of their positions and now, I genuinely forget both men are still in the NFL.

I also want to take this second to tell Patriots fans that Hopkins is never coming. Bill O’Brien is the offensive coordinator. O’Brien traded Hopkins away from Houston solely because the two men didn’t get along. His star receiver was shipped away because they had beef. DeAndre will never play for that man again. But he might want to play with the nasty man.

2. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are in the middle of a very strange and very specific championship window. With Aaron Rodgers finally out of the way, the Lions are entering the season as the favorites to win the NFC North.

We’ve seen what Jared Goff is capable of when he’s surrounded by talent. The man has been to a Super Bowl. Throw D-Hop in this receiving corp with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams plus newly drafted Jahmyr Gibbs who can turn into the next Christian McCaffrey.

3. Indianapolis Colts

If you’ve been following Deadseriousness since the Colts drafted Anthony Richardson then you know I am ALL IN on this guy turning into the next star of the NFL. The quickest way to accelerate a young QB’s progression is to pair him with an All-Star wide receiver—especially if you want to avoid Richardson becoming the next Cam Newton aka a guy who has to singlehandedly carry a team on his back year after year until his bones evaporate into mist at the 50-yard line.

Colts fans deserve this. They had to watch their favorite team be coached by Jeff Saturday—a man who went 3-7 coaching at the high school level and failed upwards to the NFL because he’s the team owner’s designated driver. Colts fans went through hell last season. Give them a little crumb of happiness.

4. New York Giants

giants

Of course the Giants are on this list. Last season, Daniel Jones proved he could lead this team to the playoffs throwing to guys who were seemingly hired from the MetLife Stadium concession stands. For some reason, this organization elected to reward Jones by acquiring absolutely no help for him.

With a new big contract and no new offensive weapons, Daniel Jones has been set up for failure. The media and fans are going to destroy Jones if he comes out and struggles since most people already believe he’s not good enough to be a QB1 in the NFL.

The Giants can literally save Daniel Jones’s reputation and overall confidence if they got out there and acquire one of the greatest wide receivers of all time.
