The New York Jets have thrown a million terrible quarterbacks out onto that field to get obliterated by whatever opposing defense was coming to town. Whether it was Sam Darnold or Zach Wilson or Joe Flacco or Luke Falk—who was so bad that he literally sued the team—there was never a QB who actually looked like they belonged in the NFL.
Well, until this weekend when 26-year old Mike White emerged from the clouds to have one of the best passing performances in Jets history.

White ended up throwing for 405 yards which is the most by a Jets QB since Vinny Testaverde in 2000 and the 10th most in Jets history. His 37 completions were the 3rd most in Jets history. He also threw for 3 touchdowns and had a 107.9 passer rating.
MVP level stats.
The rise of White Mike should surprise no one. At Western Kentucky, he led the no. 1 scoring offense in the country. Western Kentucky and the Jets have a lot in common. They are both afterthoughts in their leagues being dragged by the back of their necks by Mike White.
No idea how he was cut FIVE times since being drafted in 2018.
Personally, I give so much credit to the Jets for bringing in Joe Flacco last week to add his expertise in the QB room. Mike White could accomplish anything with Flacco in his ear saying absolutely nothing and blowing cigarette smoke in his face on the team bus.
White Mike is the king of New Jersey right now. The state belongs to him. He’s a made man anywhere on the Turnpike. Free food and drinks when he steps in. Well, after he explains ‘no seriously, I’m the Jets starting quarterback’ and provides accompanying paperwork to prove his legitimacy because he looks like every other guy at happy hour.
Zach Wilson is going to be a great backup in this league somewhere while White Mike is winning Super Bowl MVP awards.
