We Should All Be Jealous of Scott Frost

scott frost

In 2018, Nebraska hired former star QB, Scott Frost, as their new head coach in hopes of returning the program to relevance. Frost has a 16-31 win-loss record and has started this 2022 campaign losing two of their first 3 games including a disgusting 45-42 loss to Georgia Southern this Saturday. Prior to that L, Nebraska had been 214-0 when scoring 35+ points at home. They are 214-1. Thank you, Scott.

Scott Frost has managed to coach this team for 4 years without any meaningful wins or any sign of a future. The level of job security this man has had up to this point has been something we should all seek in our own professional lives. Provide no real value at work and never get fired despite having no idea what you’re doing. Frost is essentially the real-life version of Homer Simpson working at the nuclear plant.

Anddddd it’s over. Full disclosure: This entire article was going to be about Frost coaching Nebraska for the rest of his life without ever ending a season above .500 but he was fired before I could finish writing it sooo let’s pivot to this.

So an article originally meant to explain why we should be jealous of Frost’s job security will now be about how we should be jealous of Scott Frost being one of the worst head coaches in D1 college football and getting a $15 MILLION direct deposit on 9/11. A king.

This is probably a huge sigh of relief for Frost who was set to face old rival Oklahoma next week in a big nationally televised game that would have 1000% resulted in a disgusting blowout loss and a 24 cycle of being mocked by everyone and their mothers.

But you can’t take anything away from the 1 game Nebraska won this season against North Dakota—a program that fills it’s roster with future gym teachers and accountants. Big 38-17 victory over the Fighting Hawks—who are historically 1-11 against D1 schools. A program whose biggest NFL player right now is Kenny Golladay—who scored 0 fucking touchdowns for the Giants last season.

Scott Frost should inspire all of us to just do the least, coast and cash out. Goals.

But in his firing comes hope:

Mickey Joseph is breaking ceilings thanks to Frost breaking into the vault and stealing $15 million. Surely, the first black coach will be given as long of a leash as the extremely mid white dude in Nebraska of all places. Surely.
