The Pipe Bomb: Forbidden Door 2023 and Vince McMahon Won’t Die

forbidden door 2023

Welcome to The Pipe Bomb, where we discuss the latest news and events from the world of wrestling, both inside and outside the ring.

Forbidden Door 2023

CM Punk Heel Turn

I’ve already written about CM Punk, Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson and how the 3 of them define a generation but this year’s Forbidden Door really highlighted how special those guys are. In a way, the whole show was about these 3 men.

CM Punk is in the middle of a very interesting tweener mode where his crowd reaction is based on the city he’s currently wrestling in.

Like, in Chicago, he’s the biggest babyface in the industry.

But in Toronto for Forbidden Door, he was getting booed out of the arena.

On Collision, he’s wrestling against the Bullet Club and Jay White who is very much the heel but he’s kind of cutting promos like he’s a heel too and he’s mocking Hulk Hogan.

When he finally pulls the trigger and decides to be a true heel, he’s going to tear the house down.

You’ll have to turn your TV down because the boos will be too loud.

He’ll need security to walk him through parking lots so fans don’t attack him.

CM Punk is about to be the worst human on Earth and I cannot wait.

Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay

This match did exactly what it was supposed to do and I hate saying it like that because it sounds like I’m not giving it all the credit it deserves.

For the second time in a row, these men truly put their bodies on the line.

They hit each other soooo fucking hard.

They throw their bodies around like they don’t care what they’ll feel like the next day.

Maybe that’s what makes these two performers so unbelievable to witness.

They don’t think about tomorrow.

Every decision they make in that ring is to hurt their opponents and impress the fans.

Jesus.

I totally understand wanting to see these two wrestling geniuses in the ring together again especially with both men picking up singles victories against the other and the series being tied 1-1.

But I can’t watch these men lower their life expectancy with another one of these brutal matches.

Sometimes as fans, we have to be okay that something happened once and it was special and it can never happen again.

I want to see Kenny Omega with the AEW title again.

That can’t occur if Omega and Ospreay put each other in wheelchairs.

Let’s just enjoy the masterpiece they put on for us at Forbidden Door 2023.

The GOAT

Bryan Danielson BROKE HIS ARM against Okada and wrestled another 10 minutes before making Okada tap out with a BROKEN ARM.

Bryan Danielson is the greatest professional wrestler of all time and no one can tell me otherwise.

Some random Forbidden Door 2023 thoughts:

  • At last, Jungle Boy does something interesting and even after that, my only thoughts are about Hook and how he gets a real feud that won’t take place on Rampage Friday night when no one’s watching.
  • Athena is making a strong case for the baddest women’s wrestler in the States. She’s literally doing the thing Jade Cargill should be doing.
  • It’s Daniel Garcia time. Somehow by just dancing in the middle of the ring, he became my duuuuuude.
  • We can wrap up this whole Chris Jericho thing now. Start planning a retirement match. He’s cooked and has nothing else to give the business.

Death, Taxes, Vince McMahon

forbidden door 2023

Vince McMahon should be nowhere near WWE considering we all found out this past year that he’s a rapist but for some reason, all he had to do was tape a fake mustache to his thin little evil lips and this man is still making changes to the on-screen product despite creative control being in Triple H’s hands.

There are rumors this week that Vince is calling in changes from the comfort of his own coach and Triple H has to just make those changes out of fear of ruffling his father-in-law’s feathers and losing the slight power he currently holds.

There was Shotzi vs. Bayley matched advertised for Smackdown all week that never happened because Vince said no but more importantly, it seems like Vince is intentionally punishing guys Triple H is trying to push.

Carmelo Hayes has all the makings of the next big star in professional wrestling and he finally made his main roster debut this week on Raw. A huge debut match against Finn Balor, who is set to challenge for the World Title at Money in the Bank.

Carmelo Hayes lost.

Clean.

1-2-3.

His big debut and he was squashed by a guy who will most likely lose to Seth Rollins for the title which means neither Carmelo Hayes nor Finn Balor benefit from that booking decision.

It was only made to send a message to Triple H.

Vince would rather burn the company to the ground than see someone else running it and honestly, just wait until Deadseriousness is the biggest media company in the world.

I am getting final say on every article before it gets posted. I don’t care that I’m 81 and my dementia has dementia. This is MINE.
