Kevin Porter Jr Got a Weird Case, Why is He Around?

Kevin Porter Jr is back in the NBA after strangling a woman so hard, she fractured her neck. Congrats to the Clippers for paying this weirdo.

Kevin Porter Jr is a bad guy. A genuinely bad human who, at best, is like the 211th-best player in the NBA. And the Los Angeles Clippers opened up the 2024 NBA Free Agency period by immediately signing Kevin Porter Jr to not only a 2-year deal but a 2-year deal with a PLAYER OPTION.

Kevin Porter spent the last year over in Greece playing with Georgios and Achilles and them after the NBA personally packed his bags and drove him to the airport.

In October 2023, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded for Kevin Porter Jr and instantly waived him a month after beating then-girlfriend and former WNBA player, Kysre Gondrezick, nearly to death.

Porter fractured her neck vertebra and gave her a deep cut above her eye.

KPJ laid low in Athens until the heat died down and snuck back into the NBA while no one was watching. Not only did he get another contract but the Los Angeles Clippers gave him a PLAYER OPTION.

How does the guy kicked out of the league for domestic abuse have the leverage to get a player option attached to his contract?

Does Kevin Porter Jr deserve a second chance?

Humans, overall, deserve chances to grow.

I think I read Kevin completed his mandatory anger management which is no small feat. You have no idea how many people no-show their court-mandated anger management classes so good on Porter for that. Hopefully, he learned some new skills that will change his life.

However, I have no idea if Porter Jr changed.

I don’t even know what man’s voice sounds like. It would be insane for me to assume he’s suddenly changed after a couple forced counseling sessions and a semester in Mykonos.

Especially when you consider his long history of being a fucking maniac. In 2019, Porter Jr was suspended one game at USC. Cleveland still took a chance on him, drafting him 30th overall in 2019.

In the summer of 2020, Kevin Porter Jr. allegedly threw a drink in a girl’s face, ripped her wig off and punched her in the head.

A few months later, Porter Jr would once again face charges following a car accident where police found a loaded gun and weed in the car. The weed isn’t super important although if it’s illegal in that state and you managed to duck real consequences for punching a girl in the face a couple months earlier, you should probably lay low for a minute but nope—ended up being charged with driving without a license.

In Janaury 2021, Porter Jr threw food at the Cavs GM, Koby Altman, while screaming at him because the Cavs traded for Taureen Prince and gave Porter Jr’s locker to Prince, moving Porter Jr to the end of the locker room where the rest of the young players were. So basically, KPJ was getting special treatment and when that wasn’t taken away, he threw a temper tantrum.

Cleveland traded Kevin to Houston 3 days later. Surely, Kevin Porter Jr has learned his lesson and is singularly focused on basketball. Oh, except when he got to Houston, he fought a local DJ over the music choice and smashed the DJ’s laptop.

I can add that he was fined $50,000 for violating Covid protocols in 2021 but like, of course he did.

All of this before we get to him beating Kysre Gondrezick and strangling her so hard, he broke a neck vertebra.

The Los Angeles Clippers aren’t giving Kevin a second chance. This is chance number 500 and again, he has shown me nothing to believe he cares about basketball more than he cares about hitting people.

I’m not saying Porter Jr should be imprisoned for life. But 450 people get to be NBA players.

That’s it.

It is not some birthright. It is a privilege to make millions of dollars and gain the celebrity and access the NBA provides. Kevin Porter Jr can have his little ‘second chance’ but go do that at Walmart or something.

Target is hiring.

Give this roster spot to someone who worked their ass off to be a professional basketball player and doesn’t go home to terrorize their loved ones.

What are the Los Angeles Clippers doing?

Last year, the Clippers quietly picked up Josh Primo who the San Antonio Spurs waived after whipping it out in front of the team therapist. Weirdo shit. Josh Primo is no longer with the team but for whatever reason, LA feels they need to reserve at least one spot on their roster for an abuser so KPJ gets that slot.

The Clippers refused to sign Paul George to the max and apparently, it was so they could afford to fly Kevin Porter Jr in from Ioannina to attack local men, women and children.

It’s a bold strategy that seems to have nothing to do with winning games but I reckon if it doesn’t work out with Porter, Trevor Bauer could play small forward. Deshaun Watson running the point? Clippers dream team.
