Josh Allen Not Having an Elbow Might Be a Problem

josh allen

Josh Allen injured his elbow in Sunday’s big fat L to the New York Jets and for some reason, it’s being brushed under the rug as some small situation when in actuality, it could completely derail the Bills hopes of winning any meaningful games.

Cool. Apparently, he’s day-to-day and will be playing this Sunday.

The problem is, Josh Allen isn’t really the type of quarterback who should be playing through injury. His play style can be described as bull in china shop. He’s a linebacker who also happens to play QB. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him slide after scrambling. He typically lowers his shoulders into defenders and seeks out contact.

Not really the guy you want with a very public elbow injury. The Vikings have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They are going to go out of their way to hit Allen this weekend.

But not only will his running be affected by this elbow injury, but Josh Allen is also known to make terrible mistakes and turnovers. He threw 2 interceptions and dropped 2 fumbles against the Jets. I don’t know when his elbow was injured but perhaps not being able to bend his arm caused him to play like shit.

I understand why Allen is playing. The Minnesota Vikings are 7-1. Buffalo needs to be 100% focused from player 1 to player 53.

Plus, after losing to the Jets on Sunday, the Bills are now 0-2 against AFC East teams and they can’t afford to lose any ground as the Jets and Dolphins are on their ass right now.

If Buffalo gets bullied by Minnesota and Josh Allen looks as injured as I believe he is then everyone can throw out their Super Bowl predictions.

Kansas City looks a step slower this season without Tyreek Hill but they’re still the Chiefs. As long as Lamar Jackson is the QB1 in Baltimore, you always have to keep an eye on the Ravens. And if Tua Tagovailoa can stay on the field and can avoid that final hit that turns him into Chris Benoit then the Dolphins could just snatch the AFC East away.

My solution: Unleash Case Keenum on his former Vikings and see if he can pull another miracle out while Allen takes an extra week to heel. The stakes are too high to risk it. Look at how bad Matty Stafford has looked after entering this season with a bum elbow.

Let Josh Allen rest, man. He’s earned it.
