If I Were Jaylen Smith, I’d Simply Stop Getting Cut Every Few Weeks

jaylen smith

In 2019, Jaylen Smith signed a 5-year $64 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys. Last month, Dallas cut his ass randomly before he was signed by the Green Bay Packers who needed help in the second level of their defense.

Anddd a few weeks later, Smith has been cut once again. The 34th overall pick in 2016 who played every single game from day one until 2020 is suddenly dead weight that is so unwanted that Green Bay couldn’t even trick a team into giving them a 7th round pick for Smith.

Do you know how hard it was to find a photo of Jaylen Smith in Packers gear that wasn’t horribly photoshopped by a Bleacher Report intern?

To be earnest for a quick moment and take a break from shitting on any and all current or former Dallas Cowboys, it’s odd that a 26-year old who is two years removed from a Pro Bowl just can’t find a job anywhere.

You could say that the rise of rookie Micah Parsons in Dallas directly led to the expensive Jaylen Smith becoming expendable but the Packers have never had a great defense and Smith didn’t even get to dress for a game.

There are reports from scouts that Smith was having trouble reading and reacting which is a bit of a problem for an NFL linebacker. Perhaps playing every single game for 4 consecutive seasons is detrimental to the human body. Eh, shrug.

All I know is if I was a 26-year old Pro Bowl linebacker, I wouldn’t be getting cut every few weeks. Could not be me.
