For the First Time in His Career, Andrew Wiggins Won’t Take a Shot

On August 20th, the city of San Francisco passed a law that required proof of Covid-19 vaccinations in order to enter large indoor events which includes Golden State Warriors games. That’s going to be a problem for the Golden State Warriors as it’s nearly the end of September and Andrew Wiggins refuses to get the vaccine.

Here’s what Wiggins said in March regarding taking crucial medicine needed to safe his life and the lives of literally everyone he’s in a room with:

“To each his own, really. Whoever wants to get it, can get it; whoever doesn’t want to get it, don’t get it. Right now, I’m not getting it, but it’s no knock on anyone else that’s getting it. I make my own decisions. But right now, I decided not to get it. Yeah, I don’t really see myself getting it any time soon, unless I’m forced to somehow,” Wiggins said in March. “Other than that, I’m good.”

Andrew Wiggins was entering the biggest season of his career. He entered the NBA as a trade chip for LeBron James to come back to Cleveland in 2014 and send Wiggin’s ass to Minnesota for Kevin Love.

In 6 seasons as a Timberwolf, Wiggins averaged 19.7 of the most meaningless points per game in meaningless basketball games.

The highlights of his Minnesota career include tricking management into giving him a max contract he didn’t deserve and getting completely waxed by Jimmy Butler in a practice in which Jimmy grabbed the bums at the end of the Timberwolves bench and destroying the starters in a scrimmage.

But there was hope for his career to turn around in Golden State. Last season, he was the team’s second-leading scorer. With Klay Thompson finally returning to the court and Steph Curry with probably one last great MVP caliber season in his blood, Wiggins was a huge piece for a potential championship team.

Oh, except for the first time in his entire basketball career, Andrew Wiggins has found a shot that he won’t take.

Here is the best part of the San Francisco Chronicles report:

The Warriors recently connected Wiggins with an Oakland doctor who understands issues surrounding vaccine hesitancy, sources said. The doctor explained the suffering and deaths she has witnessed in patients who contracted the coronavirus, sources said, but Wiggins remains unmoved in his decision against vaccination.

Love that Andrew Wiggins sat down with a medical professional and left that meeting yawning and rolling his eyes.

How many pages deep on Google do you have to scroll to find the anti-vax ‘information’ you’re seeking when you say you’re ‘doing your own research’. At this point, people against the vaccine are people like Nicki Minaj who heard one story about a friend’s cousin’s boyfriend and that one random made up story has given them the confidence to ignore actual doctors.

If Golden State wants Wiggins to take the shot they just have to put it one step inside the 3-point line and that man will take 20 Covid shots a night from there.

Can’t wait to watch Golden State get blown out in a play-in game losing to the 10th seed.
