My favorite fake claim about modern NBA players is how they are not only empowered to take control of their careers but they also now have the freedom to stand up for social causes and change the world.
And it’s very easy to claim you want change until that change actually comes to your front door and you have to face it and not just tweet about it or whatever.
Never forget when Rachel Nichols pretended to be an ally for black women in media and then was caught crying and complaining about Maria Taylor taking her spot in the NBA Finals.
She blamed Black Lives Matters and ESPN wanting to come off as progressive.
But if she was a true ally and wanted to see black people advance and receive equal opportunities then she had to have been aware that for that change to happen, some white people would have to lose their spots.
She works for the sports media powerhouses over at Showtime alongside Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce drunk as hell yelling like uncles fighting over which of their nephews brought the hotter girlfriend to Thanksgiving dinner.
Well, now Steph Curry joins the long list of individuals who have tricked us into believing he’s one of the good one’s when in reality, he’s a typical ‘Not In My Backyard’ selfish asshole like the rest.
The town of Atherton, California, is introducing new a multifamily housing development and the Curry’s have a problem with that.
TIL: Steph Curry has apparently “been following along with the housing element update” in the affluent Bay Area suburb of Atherton, and opposes rezoning to allow a single-family mansion to become 16 townhomes due to concerns of “both privacy and safety” ðŸ˜

This little worm even added “We hesitate to add to the “not in our backyard” (literally) rhetoric but we wanted to send a note before today’s meeting. Safety and privacy for us and our kids continues to be our top priority and one of the biggest reasons we chose Atherton as home.”
So what is Steph Curry really upset about?
At first, this sounds like a reasonable request, right?
You can’t have a bunch of new heathens running around your neighborhood.
Steph Curry is famous.
His children need privacy and safety.
There are plenty of Rockets fans who would ragdoll Riley Curry if they were in the same room as her.
But we can’t combat the homeless problem in California without like, building affordable homes for people and Atherton has the land to build these homes.
So either you care about the less fortunate getting to sleep with roofs over their heads or you care about the value of your property.
But it can’t be both.
Isn’t it interesting that it’s always the richest people who can afford to live wherever the fuck they want always demanding the poorest people who can afford the least, to move to another town?
Steph Curry has far more options for where he could live to find privacy and safety than the people who are moving into those buildings have.
But not only did Steph have a problem with poor people being in his line of sight but he went as far as sending a Karen-esque email about it.
He complained to the manager.
Steph Curry is a fucking loser.
