The Baltimore Ravens fell to 7-4 on the season after blowing a 4th quarter lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars and taking a 27-28 L on Sunday afternoon. Following the game, Lamar Jackson went on Twitter to engage with a few ‘fans’. It didn’t go well.
Before there is any analysis of Lamar’s terrible twitter exchange, we have to take a step back and yell at any Ravens fans who think the team would be better without Lamar Jackson. This fan thinks the team would be better if Lamar left and the money was spent on a more ‘well-rounded’ team.
Lamar was on a cheap rookie contract for 4 years and this front office didn’t use that extra money to get him any help on offense so not sure what type of team he is expecting the Ravens to put together if they lost their MVP QB.
There is no team without Lamar. First and foremost.
But yea, Lamar can’t tell people online that they eat dick. That’s super frowned upon. But to pretend as if this is some fatal flaw in his character is disingenuous. He lost a football game and immediately went through his Twitter mentions. Of course he’s pissed.
Here’s what Ravens coach John Harbaugh had to say about this very unimportant internet confrontation:
“I just talk to these guys, we talk a lot about football, but we also talk a little about that stuff, too, what goes on in terms of media and everything. Really just beg guys not to get into the Twitter world right after the game, especially after a loss. It’s never going to be positive, it’s not going to be a nice place.”
“I think that’s kind of reflected in Lamar’s response because what he said was just so out of character for him. That’s not the way he speaks. That’s not the way he talks. That’s not the words he ever uses,” Harbaugh said. “I’ve never heard him say things like that before. … I’m sure he’s frustrated, just like we all are. That’s just a place you don’t want to live right after a game. I know he understands that.”
I won’t go on Twitter if the last tweet I sent out had a typo so I can’t imagine what an NFL quarterback’s Twitter mentions look like after losing a game. Lamar Jackson can’t tell random users to eat dicks but if anything, that tweet probably showed a lot of restraints compared to the amount of garbage he was probably reading.
None of this matters, is my point. Elon Musk is going to turn that entire site into a Blockbuster by New Year’s.
