35-year-old Aaron Donald returns to the NFL to sign a 1-year, $20m contract with the Los Angeles Rams, running it back for one last job with the 2026 Super Bowl favorites.
Donald retired following a successful 2023 campaign, 8 sacks, 16 tackles for loss and 23 QB hits to help the Rams sneak into the playoffs, where they only lost to the Detroit Lions by 1 in the Wild Card round.
He retired with a year left on his deal, at age 32, content with 3 Defensive Player of the Year trophies, 8 All-Pro selections (all first-team), 10 Pro Bowl honors in 10 professional seasons, and a Super Bowl trophy, rode off into the sunset while his body still allowed him to ride.
Approached with the opportunity for one last job, one last chance for another Super Bowl ring before all these old-timers learn their kids’ favorite meals, or like, the sounds of their voices, Donald returned
Aaron Donald joins Myles Garrett, fresh off breaking the single-season sack record for the 5-win Browns, finally, for the first time in his career, entering a season with real, legit championship expectations and All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Your Ocean’s Eleven crew set.
Sean McVay is Danny Ocean.
Matthew Stafford is Brad Pitt.
Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald are both Bernie Mac. He’s cool.
Puka Nucua is drunk, biting a lady right now, calling her antisemitic slurs. Was Alec Baldwin in the Ocean’s movies?

Who can stop the Rams with Aaron Donald?
The Cardinals will not be fielding a 53-man NFL roster full of NFL-level talent. The San Francisco 49ers start each season with at least 10 starters in walking boots. Shit, their head coach almost exploded in a car crash. At what point do we stop blaming the substation next to the practice facility and start to question whether Levi Stadium was built over sacred indigenous burial ground, unlocking an ancestral curse—devastating the 49ers physically, mentally and emotionally?
And the Seahawks have Sam Darnold. I imagine Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald can make that man believe in ghosts again.
Rams in 4.
