With the 2nd overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, JaMarr Chase, Patrick Surtain and Micah Parsons selected after, the New York Jets chose QB Zach Wilson.

After going 12-21 in 3 uneventful seasons, New York sent him to Denver for a 6th-round pick.

A rare opportunity to refine his game with Sean Payton, one of the godfathers of modern NFL offense.

Helped transform Drew Brees into a Hall of Famer.

Bo Nix, in Payton’s offense, about to make back-to-back playoff appearances.

So when Zach Wilson signed a 1-year deal with the Dolphins this offseason, I assumed, especially given Tua’s injury history and inability to see over his own offensive line, Zach Wilson would get an opportunity to display the skills he picked up in Denver.

The Miami Dolphins are benching quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and turning to rookie Quinn Ewers as their new starter, coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday.

Ewers’ first start will come Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Ewers served as the team’s backup quarterback for its Week 7 loss to the Cleveland Browns and briefly entered the game but has otherwise been the Dolphins’ emergency quarterback.

“Quinn gives us the best chance to win,” McDaniel said.

Nope, Zach Wilson ain’t touching the field.

With 3 games left, the Miami Dolphins are benching Tua for 7th-round rookie, Quinn Ewers.

Coming off a 15-28 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, eliminating them from the playoffs, a game in which Tua threw his league-leading 15th interception, the Dolphins are ending the 5-year experiment.

But they’re giving Quinn Ewers a look instead of Zach.

Quinn Ewers led the conference in interceptions in his final season at Texas before being benched for freshman Arch Manning.

Have you watched Arch play football this season? Quinn Ewers lost his starting job to Cooper’s weird kid.

The Dolphins have more faith in the 231st pick than the 2nd.

Zach is worse than this..

Is Zach Wilson even showing up to practice?

Does he chew too loudly on the team plane?

Was he on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane?

You just have to give credit where it’s due. Shout out to New York Jets owner, Woody Johnson, drafting Zach Wilson no. 2 overall, knowing, years down the line, he’d trick a division rival into wasting a roster space for Mormon Christian Hackenberg. *taps temple* always gotta check the Madden ratings. Ya tu sabe.

What to expect from Quinn Ewers?

The Dolphins play the Bengals this week.

Cincinnati has the 32nd-ranked defense, dead worst in the NFL.

They are the ideal team to audition against.

Quinn Ewers threw for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, completing 65.8% of his passes in 14 starts for Texas last year. He led the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff semifinal, losing to Ohio State.

He’s played in bigger games than whatever is about to happen in Miami this weekend.

I have no idea if Quinn Ewers will succeed but I’m excited to see what head coach Mike McDaniel can draw up for a QB who can turn their body without waking up in the back of an ambulance.
