Time after time after time, the WNBA misses opportunities to grow its business. Friday night was their expansion draft for their new Golden State Valkyries franchise and for whatever reason, Caitlin Clark wasn’t selected to the new team.
Actually, I do know why Caitlin Clark wasn’t selected: the WNBA has no idea how to make money.
Let me, a college dropout, explain how business works to this league that hates its biggest money maker.
The WNBA hates that the most talented and most popular player in their league is a white woman and they are doing everything in their power to dim her light.
Like how they allowed Clark to get brutally assaulted in every single game her rookie season.

Caitlin Clark gets called a b*tch then decked by Chicago guard, Chennedy Carter, away from the ball.
Does Caitlin need to toughen up, or are the women out to get her- What y’all think? pic.twitter.com/ajKvPQfr91

The NBA would never treat LeBron James or Michael Jordan like this.
Years of these women complaining about being underpaid and suddenly—an innocent, pure superstar capable of breaking attendance and viewership records whenever she shows up to the venue—appears to save their cute little league and her coworkers resent her.
It’s all jealousy.
Women are jealous creatures.
It’s why I don’t believe trans women should be allowed to play in the WNBA.
They weren’t born with the jealous gene.
Friday night’s expansion draft was the WNBA’s chance to use their brightest star to help generate buzz and attention for the new Golden State Valkyries franchise but once again, the WNBA doesn’t care about making money.
Here’s who the Golden State Valkyries selected instead of the GOAT:
- Iliana Rupert, Atlanta Dream
- María Conde, Chicago Sky
- Veronica Burton, Connecticut Sun
- Carla Leite, Dallas Wings
- Temi Fagbenle, Indiana Fever
- Kate Martin, Las Vegas Aces
- Stephanie Talbot, Los Angeles Sparks
- Cecilia Zandalasini, Minnesota Lynx
- Kayla Thornton, New York Liberty
- Monique Billings, Phoenix Mercury
- Julie Vanloo, Washington Mystics
If you notice, Caitlin Clark’s name isn’t on that list—atrocious mishandling of a business.
The WNBA won’t exist by the end of next season because they care more about being woke than profits.
They’d rather promote that thug Angel Reese over this angel Caitlin Clark.
And don’t get me started on the number of foreign players on this new team.
No one’s going to Valkyries games next season to see Temi Fagbenle.
Hopefully the Indiana Fever come to town this season.
The city’s going to need all the revenue she brings with her.
If the Valkyries drafted her, she could’ve singlehandedly solved San Francisco’s homeless problem but nope.
Oh, and I don’t want to hear “This was an expansive draft. They couldn’t just take any player off any roster. The teams were able to protect the top players on their roster”—because yea—duh.
Kate Martin was a smart pick if we’re talking ball.
But we’re not talking ball.
We’re talking top-level Fortune 500 big-brain business shit here.
The WNBA should’ve changed the rules.
When you have a once-in-a-generation talent, you break all the rules to maximize her exposure.
That’s what a good business would do, anyway.
But the WNBA is operating on autopilot, set to “woke” default settings and they will be bankrupt by the time I finish this sentence.
RIP.
