5 Teams With The Best Chance To Beat The Kansas City Chiefs in 2024

The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of a dynasty and as long as Patrick Mahomes can walk, he will be walking to the Super Bowl. But which team has the best chance to stop them?

teams to beat the chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs just won their 2nd straight Super Bowl and as long as Patrick Mahomes is wearing a Chiefs jersey, this team will be in title favorites every year. The 49ers were the most talented team in the NFL and at no point did I ever feel like they had an opportunity to win that game.

Let’s talk about teams who miiiiiiiiight have a chance to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.

Disqualified Teams

Buffalo Bills: I genuinely believe Josh Allen will lead the Buffalo Bills to a Super Bowl. But it’ll only occur if they’re on the other side of the bracket and some other team beats the Chiefs before they make it to the AFC Championship game. Death. Taxes. The Bills losing to the Chiefs. That’s life.

Baltimore Ravens: The 2023 Ravens had a historically great defense. The team had a first-round bye. Their quarterback was the MVP OF THE LEAGUE. And Lamar Jackson went out there in a very winnable game and started chucking it as far as he could on short-yardage situations to almost prove he’s better than Mahomes. The Ravens don’t stand a chance as long as Lamar remains more focused on playing against critics and narratives instead of the actual football team in front of him.

Cincinnati Bengals: Patrick Mahomes is an absolute SICKO. The Bengals beat the Chiefs in the playoffs once in 2021. That will never happen again. The Chiefs immediately beat Cincinnati the next season. Mahomes threw for 326 yards with 2 touchdowns. As long as Mahomes lives, the Bengals will never beat him again.

Okay, now onto the real list.

1. Houston Texans

We talk about intangibles like leadership and poise. But CJ Stroud has all of that plus the biggest intangible most sports discourse leaves out and that’s Stroud’s undying faith in the Lord. CJ just had one of the best rookie QB seasons ever and he even won a playoff game on his first try.

Add Stroud’s devotion to god to Wil Anderson Jr’s devotion to piledriving quarterbacks into the Earth’s crust and you have a Texans team that could really put the Chiefs in hell. Houston just has to let Jesus take the wheel.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Deadseriousness is an Anthony Richardson stan account. From everything I’ve seen, he has the chance to be one of the most dynamic quarterbacks we’ve ever seen.

Let’s just let the footage do the talking:

This man is running full speed through Trent McDuffie’s chest.

3. Tennesee Titans

Okay, I’ll admit I’m running out of teams here. But I have evidence for this claim. With Ryan Tannehill gone, the Titans fully belong to Will Levis and Levis might be the exact type of maniac capable of beating the Chiefs.

Here he is at a celebrity poker game successfully predicting the flop

But it’s not his ability to do math quickly that’s the most impressive—although being able to make calculations that quickly is crucial for scanning an NFL defense in the 1 second you have before an edge rusher is one your spine—it was Levis’s reaction as the end when he locks into his chips and goes full sicko.

Will Levis is nuts. Let’s see if he can channel it.

4. Green Bay Packers

Yea, I totally ran out of AFC teams so let’s expand this to the entire league. I’m a Jordan Love stan soooo, why not the Packers(?) In the final 7 games of the Packers 2023 season, Love threw 23 touchdowns to only 3 interceptions.

I mean, these Packers beat the Chiefs last year. Jordan Love threw 3 touchdowns with a 118.6 passer rating but it was mostly the Packers defense that handcuffed the Chiefs. Keisean Nixon snatched Mahomes’s pockets in the 4th quarter.

I get the feeling the Packers are going to be super active in free agency while all their star players are still on their cheap rookie contracts. The Green Bay Packers are about to get stacked.

5. Los Angeles Rams

The NFC sucks, man. Outside of the 49ers, who are the best teams? The Philadelphia Eagles crumbled to dust when their security guard got suspended. The Dallas Cowboys? Those 53 guys are out there calling their own plays and sharing scouting reports on the sidelines with each other because Mike McCarthy spends practice on his phone trying to perfectly time his door dash order to sneak in a half dozen Dunkin’ Donuts before his driver picks up his Chick-Fil-A order.

As long as the Rams are run by Sean McVay and the NFC continues to be full of teams who cannot wait to slip on a banana peel or step on a rake, the Los Angeles Rams are Super Bowl contenders.

Plus, McVay found his next Todd Gurley, Kyren Williams led the NFL in rushing yards per game and when this Rams offense has a running back the defense has to respect, they’re a different animal.

And Sean McVay might be the only guy in the NFL who is as big a sicko as Mahomes.
