Brett Favre is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He’s also a conservative asshole with some of the worst non-football takes ever uttered by man. And now he owes the state of Missippi $1 million after scamming them out of welfare money.
Last year, Brett Favre was paid a cool million for speaking engagements that he did not participate in. That money was funneled to him from a federal grant called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. Crucial resources that are supposed to be distributed to the people of Mississippi that need it the most were given to Brett Favre for a fake talk he never did.
After an audit, Favre was forced to pay $500,000 last year and promised to pay the rest later. Well, it’s later now and he now owes over $800,000 after built up interest.
What makes this story so enraging is how conservatives treat people who need welfare and government resources. Generations of racist tropes. Calling black women ‘welfare queens‘ for needing government assistance. How DARE my taxes go to these ‘lazy’ people who don’t want to work.
These stories are important reminders that the real people taking advantage of the system are wealthy conservatives who have the legal resources necessary to scam and steal these funds from people who have nothing and funnel by hiring celebrities for fake talks all while simultaneously convincing themselves that hiring Brett Favre to talk to poor people will inspire their lazy asses to go out there and be successful or whatever the fuck. Sociopath shit.
Brett Favre is cut from this terrible cloth. A man who is for sure vaccinated but said in a CNN interview that he doesn’t want to say if he’s vaxxed or not and that it’s a personal choice and blah blah.
It’s like all the Fox News hosts making 6-7 figures to spread vaccine misinformation all while being stuffed full of any and all medicines. These rich conservatives want to be voices for the poor working-class conservatives as they drain those same people of all their money, health and peace.
Fuck Brett Favre.
