Today, the New York Yankees announced they are sending infielder, Jazz Chisholm Jr to the 10-day injured list due to a right oblique strain after Chisholm suffered the injury Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles—swinging through a ball in the dirt.

Yike.
Lefty infielder, Jorbit Vivas, has been called up from AAA to take Chisholm’s place.
Vivas is one of the top prospects in the Yankees farm system and this could be an interesting little tryout as he replaces a player currently hitting .181 and the 3rd lowest on-base percentage in the starting 9.
However, 10 of Chisholm’s 19 hits this season have been extra base hits, including 7 home runs off his new, cool torpedo bat that moves more wood to the part of the bat when the player holding the bat typically makes most consistent contact—allowing Chisholm to launch would-be base hits into orbit.
I don’t want to depict Chisholm as a problem in the batting order but Vivas is batting .319 with a .862 OPS in the minors so far this year and his ability to simply make contact and get on base could help add some extra runs for this Yankees lineup capable of exploding any given inning—launching bursts of dingers into the bleachers like a halftime show t-shirt cannon.
