The Los Angeles Lakers are 11-11 through their first 22 games this season. A team with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook should not be preparing for the end of season play-in tournament hoping to secure the 7th seed and with all attention of how atrocious Russell Westbrook has been, Avery Bradley has slipped under the radar despite being one of the worst players in the NBA this season.
Avery Bradley being trash wouldn’t even matter that much if it weren’t for the Lakers need to not only play him 22 minutes a night but start him in 16 of the 21 games he’s been available. He’s averaging 5 points on 38% shooting. Oh, there’s also my favorite stat: the Lakers are -107 in Bradley’s 468 minutes this season. When he’s on the court, you know you’re about to get outscored.
Bradley hasn’t been a meaningful contributor to an NBA roster in about a half-decade and the 31-year old 3 and D specialist is too washed to play D at a high enough level anymore. Especially not for a team like the Lakers who expect to be in the NBA Finals. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson would run Bradley out of the gym.
He also probably shouldn’t be in the NBA after he sexually assaulted a woman in 2017 and paid around $400,000 to keep her from talking about it. This is a story few NBA fans know about because Avery Bradley sucked in 2017 and no one knew he was even playing for the Detroit Pistons. No idea how he ended up in the Lakers starting rotation 4 years later but here we are and he’s the worst player on the team both with a basketball and alone with women.
