And now we are being robbed of one of the few intelligent podcasts we have left in this barren sports media landscape, thanks to the feds coming in and arresting Gilbert on silly charges.
Gilbert Arenas was arrested Wednesday in connection with a federal indictment that alleges the former NBA star hosted illegal high-stakes poker games at his mansion in Encino, California, according to a release from the United States Attorney’s Office of Central California.
Yevgeni “Giora” Gershman, a suspected high-level member of an Israeli organized crime group, and four other associates also were indicted and arrested in connection with the alleged illegal business, which prosecutors say operated from September 2021 to July 2022.
According to the indictment, Arenas rented out his Encino house and one of his associates staged the mansion for the poker games, recruited co-conspirators to host and collected rent from the co-conspirators on Arenas’ behalf.
The indictment alleges that Gershman and the other defendants ran illegal Pot Limit Omaha poker games, among others, and collected a cut from each pot contested.
Prosecutors say the group hired chefs, valets and armed security guards to staff the games — as well as young women who served drinks, provided massages and offered companionship to the poker players in exchange for tips — and that the co-conspirators took a cut of the servers’ tips. (ESPN)
Sooo now, suddenly, it’s illegal to rent out your house to notorious Israeli crime families so they can gamble, surrounded by sex workers.
It’s illegal to have fun in America now.
You can no longer travel to former NBA All-Stars’ mansions to gamble with Israeli drug and sex traffickers.
Like, what is even the point of living in this country anymore??
I thought we supported Israel?
All Gilbert Arenas did was create a safe, healthy environment for our allies to come take the edge off as they fight a brutal war on their home soil (and by brutal war I mean the obvious, blatant extermination of the Palestinians with the full financial and political support of the United State of America, and The Nelk Boys.)
This is just the powers that be continuing their fight against education and universities.
They are trying to make the country dumber so we succumb to whatever propaganda they sling into our big, dumb, gaping mouths.
Gilbert Arenas gives us a scholarly analysis of basketball and he’s getting the book thrown at him for also being a solid humanitarian in his off time.
He gave a bunch of strippers work too. They got to keep some of their tips.
He’s helping the community and employing the youth. This is the type of citizen you want behind bars?
