Whenever Michael Thomas logs onto Twitter, you know you are in for 24 hours of straight bullshit as every sports network attempts to dissect and discern whatever vague quote he stole from the caption of an Instagram model’s fashion nova picture he saw that morning.

Can’t Guard Mike truly thinks he’s such a bad bitch.
It is extremely easy to root against this man and question his motives. New Orleans gave Thomas a 5-year $100 milly extension two summers ago and he proceeded to have one of, if not the best statistical season that any wide receiver ever had.
Michael Thomas caught 149 balls for 1,725 yards. Just objectively the best player on the field keeping Drew Brees’s elderly ass in the MVP conversation.
The reason almost everyone is universally taking New Orleans’s side here is not just because Thomas was paid $100 million recently but due to Thomas being an asshole and deciding to get ankle surgery in June, two months ago, knowing damn well he’d miss the beginning of the season.
According to the team, New Orleans told Thomas that he would need surgery on his ankle to fully repair it and he chose to get a second opinion away from the team that told him he’d be able to simply rehab his ankle and heal without needing a doctor cutting him open.
Neither side is talking to each other right now and it appears as though their relationship is completely fractured.
It’s odd to assume Michael Thomas is a ‘diva’ that doesn’t care about the team and only cares about himself without taking a step back and wondering what they did to him.
We are all aware of the shady shit teams say or do when attempting to lower a player’s value during contract negotiations. So sure, maybe Thomas got his $100 million but perhaps some gross things were said or done leading up to the final pen on pad and he never forgave them.
Fans have this belief that professional athletes should put up with anything an organization does to them because they sign their million dollar game checks as if these players should just forever be thankful and blindly appreciative to the random team that drafted them without their consent.
I understand Michael Thomas is the boy who cried wolf on Twitter so it’s difficult to take his side when he complains about not getting respect when the cashier at the local market accidentally rings up his Pop-Tarts twice but New Orleans should be doing everything in their power to keep him content because Drew Brees is gone.
In his place is a 30-year old running back who keeps being treated like he’s a rookie still developing and a serial groper who since 2014, leads all QBs in turnovers despite not being drafted until 2015 and not even playing last season.
So cool. Continue being weird to Michael Thomas. Enjoy your 0-0 shootouts against Sam Darnold this year.
