In 2022, the New York Giants selected linebacker, Micah McFadden, in the 5th round. Two years later, and McFadden has transformed into one of the best defenders in the NFL.
According to Pro Football Focus, McFadden is one of the highest-graded defenders in the league.
McFadden leads the team with 27 total tackles to go with his 1.5 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss and 4 QB hits.
The New York Giants are 1-3. They lost a game where they scored 3 touchdowns and didn’t allow the other team to score one. In a season where the Giants once again prepare for a Top 5 pick in this year’s draft, you have to find a reason to watch every week.
Micah McFadden has quickly become that reason.

McFadden is a loose grizzly bear out there, exploding whenever the ball is snapped with the sole purpose of slamming his skull into whoever is unfortunate enough to be carrying the ball.
His superpower is locating holes in the opposing offensive line and sprinting through openings untouched—as if the gaps were specifically created for him. McFadden will rocket himself into a quarterback at least once a game. AND HE’S BEEN PLAYING HURT ALL YEAR.
Outside of Malik Nabers making once-in-a-lifetime receptions every week, Micah McFadden is must-see TV for a Giants team void of watchability.
I don’t know what this team will look like next season. Daniel Jones is behind the best offensive line he’s played with and he’s still missing open receivers. Head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen could be unemployed.
But get used to Micah McFadden wrecking plays for the next decade. The New York Giants entire organization should be designed around maximizing McFadden’s prime. We are witnessing the beginnings of a football legend.
