Something shady is happening in New Orleans. This week, the Saints are extending Taysom Hill and giving him even more money he hasn’t earned for absolutely no reason that can be depicted via football-related information.
Here are the details:
Sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Hill’s new deal will pay him $40 million over the next four years if he remains in his current role in which he serves as backup quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end, as well as being a special teams ace. However, the deal can be worth up to $95 million if Hill becomes the Saints’ starting quarterback over the next four years.

Single coverage down the field. A quarterback throws a deep ball and that wide receiver jogs into the endzone. Hill both underthrew the ball while also airmailing it forcing the receiver to stop running and the defender got all the time in the world to just sit and wait for it.
Taysom Hill is coming off signing a 2-year $21 million deal he signed in 2020 and will now be getting another $22 million guaranteed even though he’s the third string quarterback and barely even touches the field.
When he signed that contract in 2020, it was steep but it at least came with some understanding that Hill would replace Drew Brees as the next franchise quarterback. Brees works for NBC now. Not only was Hill not given the chance to start, but he also fell to third on the depth chart behind both Jameis Winston and Trevor Siemian.
Yet somehow, the Saints just gave him a deal in which he could make up to $90 MILLION if he becomes the starting quarterback in the next 4 years. This motherfucker is 31 years old. This dream is dead. He’s never going to be a good quarterback.
So what is happening? There is no player in the NFL who can make this money because they’re good on special teams, sometimes. They acquired Mark Ingram at the trade deadline so it’s not as if they value him as Alvin Kamara’s backup. Taysom Hill is literally the 53rd man on the roster getting ridiculous direct deposits every week.
Here are his stats this season:
- 7-for-8 passing
- 56 yards
- 0 passing touchdowns
- 1 interception
- 20 rushes
- 104 rushing yards
- 3 touchdowns
- 4 catches
- 52 yards
Those would be cool stats if they were from 1 game and happened every Sunday. Those are all his stats for the entire season. $22 million guaranteed. He’s getting paid twice in 2 years for these stats.
Let’s just call this like it is. The New Orleans Saints are cleaning money via Taysom Hill contracts. There’s no other explanation. There’s some sort of Ponzi scheme taking place and the access cash is being moved into Hill’s checking account to avoid eyes from the government. You can buy a car wash or a casino or now, you can buy a Taysom Hill.
