We are in the midst of a male loneliness epidemic. Now, more than ever, men feel isolated from one another.
A true mental health national emergency and the New York Jets attempted to stop Aaron Rodgers and Pat McAfee from hanging out for just a half hour once a week.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported on Tuesday’s episode of Scoop City that Rodgers’ weekly appearances on The Pat McAfee Show were among the things that would have to change if he wished to continue his tenure in New York.
“I was told that when they had conversations with Aaron Rodgers about the future would look like, [they said,] ‘If you’re gonna be a part of this team, you’re gonna attend all of training camp, you’re not gonna do Pat McAfee interviews anymore,'” Russini said at the 28:10 mark. (BR)
The New York Jets are a disgusting franchise, refusing to allow their star quarterback to simply maintain his weekly chill sesh with his bro that happens to be aired on ESPN where Rodgers routinely openly discusses his frustrations with his coworkers or his paranoid fear of the big, spooky government.
He also called Jimmy Kimmel a pedophile once on the Pat McAfee show but, ya know, guys have to share their feelings or they’ll get like, prostate cancer, I think. Aaron Rodgers just wants to save his prostate and the Jets want that shit to swell up.
Just two guys bro-ing out, with millions of people watching.
In an era where men refuse to speak about their problems, we almost never get to hear the opinions and voices of straight, rich. white men.
It is borderline dangerous for the Jets to take Rodgers’s therapy away from him.
I know Jets fans are excited about new GM, Darren Mougey, and new head coach, Aaron Glenn—both coming from organizations that made the playoffs this season through building a program from the ground up the correct way—but they’ve left all of those lessons behind them as they’ve come to New York prioritizing “winning” over mental health and I cannot support an organization that doesn’t give a shit about their players.
I was under the impression the NFL cared about player safety but I guess that doesn’t trickle down to their mental well-being.
Good luck to the 2025 New York Jets who elected to move on from their star QB after he led them to 5 wins last season.
Let’s see how well they play without this guy…
ANOTHER INTERCEPTION FROM AARON RODGERS 😳
Disaster start for the Jets 😬
