Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore was minding his own business Wednesday. A tough loss to Ohio State and no CFP seed but still preparing for a big game in the prestigious Cheez-It Bowl.
When all of a sudden, he was handed a pink slip and rode in the back of a police car to bookings for a night in Arkham Asylum.
“U-M Head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.” (Source)
In his second season at Michigan, arguably the pinnacle of his career, Sherrone led Michigan to a 9-3 campaign. At 39 years old, Moore’s proven he’s deserving of million dollar contracts for the rest of his coaching career. No one has ever been more up.

Earlier Wednesday, police were called to the listed address of a female Michigan football staffer at 4:10 p.m., according to police dispatch. Police also sent officers to the listed address of Moore. He was detained in Saline, a few miles outside of Ann Arbor, as part of an alleged assault investigation, according to the Pittsfield Township Police Department. (Source)

After losing his job, Sherrone Moore was arrested at Paige’s house and spent the night in protective custody by mental health professionals. With the story still unfolding, none of the details officially reported, I had to do some digging to figure out how Moore went from losing his dream job to 5150’d in a matter of hours.
Didn’t take long. A lotttt of wild accusations out in these streets.
Anywhere from forcing this girlfriend to get an abortion to potentially assaulting her to maybe threatening to kill himself and his wife with a knee or kill himself and his girlfriend, again, with a knife, dramatic ass Romeo and Juliet style.
We’ll find out the truth later, which will inevitably be less exciting than all the fun lies.
However, here’s a truth I know for certain: We are not too far removed from a time when black coaches hardly existed. Black coaches are still a new species in football. And at a time when the economy is held together by the Google Gemini AI assist button I keep disabling, and with a Trump regime incapable of improving the material conditions of its sycophants—forcing themselves to double and triple down on anti-black and brown culture wars—Sherrone Moore was in the pilot seat of his own life during a time where the people with the power and the money and the influence, are taking the equity back from black and brown people they were pressured into sharing in the first place.
